“O Lord my God, I cried out to You and You healed me.” Psalm 30:2 This Sunday morning, I was reviewing my sermon notes to complete the last of a new series on The Ten Commandments: God's Perfect Law of Liberty, when acute back pain came on suddenly and kept increasing in unbearable intensity. My initial thought, that I must have overdone it at the gym on Saturday, was quickly dismissed as I recognised the symptoms. Acute lower back pain and an overwhelming nausea had me running to the bathroom, expecting to throw up any moment. Soon there was no doubt, I was experiencing an eruption of kidney stones.
If I did not believe in Divine intervention, I would simply be speechless at the way in which my recently spent time in Europe played out. The fact that the dates all coincided with one another, the fact that I was able to participate in so many different events, paddle the Vogalonga in Venice, paddle with the Vienna Pink Dragons on the Danube, my time with family, childhood friends and seeing two of our children graduate from Spring School at the Tauernhof all made for a most blessed three weeks.
"And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen..”Matthew 28: 18-20
