“Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 2:4-5 Africa Reformation Overland Mission Team Returns Since our last Prayer and Praise Update, two months ago, much has happened. We praise God for the safe return of our Africa Reformation Mission team who travelled over 15,000km, conducting over 117 meetings across 7 countries, including: Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Swaziland, Botswana and Namibia. You can read the reports of Abrie, Daniel, Alieske, Tobie and Talita on our www.FrontlineMissionSA.org website and in the latest Frontline Fellowship News, which is available online. Mission to America After my Mission to Mpumalanga, I headed off to the United States to lecture on Transforming the Culture Through Textbooks and A Look at Modern Textbooks at the Future of Christendom Conference in Pennsylvania. Then in Idaho, I gave presentations on The Battle for the Soul of South Africa and Who Won the War and Who Initiated the Peace? at the Old Paths Christian History Conference. I also had the opportunity to give a presentation on Winning the Vikings for Christ to home educators in Idaho. In South Carolina, I gave presentations on The Resurgence of Paganism and A Vision of Victory and Serving the Persecuted in Africa. All of these lectures can be viewed as videos on our www.FrontlineMissionSA.org website under our Video Gallery, under the USA Mission – Oct folder. They can also be listened to on our SermonAudio page. All told, including radio and T.V. interviews, I gave 20 presentations, Bible Studies and sermons during the two weeks in America. Mobilising Prayer for the Persecuted As part of the world wide International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted (IDOP) movement, Frontline Fellowship hosts the www.idop-africa.org website. Colin designed a series of new Prayer posters including: Pray for the Muslim World, Pray for the Nuba, Pray for South Sudan, Pray for Zimbabwe and Pray for Africa. These can all be viewed, downloaded and printed from our www.idop-africa.org website, along with a range of videos to promote Prayer for the Persecuted, including my presentation on the 11th November, Remember the Persecuted. Reformation Celebration Leading up to Reformation Day, I put together a new presentation on Ulrich Zwingli and the Reformation in Switzerland. And my report on Debating Homosexuality and the Bible on Cape Talk Radio 702. Armistice 100, Remembrance Sunday and Rhodesia Every year, for the last 3 years, I have been asked to be the chaplain for the Rhodesia Forces Remembrance Service in Fish Hoek. We had representatives of Rhodesian African Rifles, Rhodesian Light Infantry, Rhodesia Regiment, Selous Scouts, Special Air Service, C-Squadron, British South Africa Police (BSAP), INTAF, the MOTHs and other groups. You can view a video of the PowerPoint presentation I put together for the 100th Anniversary of the Armistice, which ended the First World War and 53 years since Rhodesia’s independence, on our www.FrontlineMissionSA.org Video Gallery. Through Every Book of the Bible By God's grace, I am nearing the completion of a bold Back to the Bible Reformation Project, launched over 5 years ago – to preach through every Book of the Bible. I recently completed 2 Peter and am on track to complete the New Testament Survey before the end of this year, in time for our next Reformation 500 – Back to Biblical Exposition, marking the launch of Expository Preaching by Swiss Reformer, Ulrich Zwingli, 1 January 1519. Our Old Testament Survey book is already available. By God's grace, we plan to have the New Testament Survey available early in the New Year. The audio MP3 of the sermons preached summarising the key message of each Book of the New Testament should be available before the end of this year. You can listen to my Bible Survey sermons, summarising each Book of the Bible (up to 2 Peter), on our SermonAudio page. Social Media Just in the last week on our Livingstone Fellowship Facebook page, one post, including 35 pictures of Rhodesia and linking to our Remembrance service audio and video, had 214,659 reach with an 81,456 engagement and 2,827 shares. The Frontline Fellowship page, with a special emphasis on the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church, had a 9,464 post reach in the last week. Henry Morton Stanley School of Christian Journalism had over 8,000 reach, the Idop-Africa page and Young Reformers Out to Change the World are also reaching a surprising amount of people all over the world. Jehovah’s Witness Outreach As Jehovah’s Witnesses from throughout South Africa filled Cape Town stadium for their annual congress, Hunter designed a new evangelistic tract: When Did Jesus Become God? for our missionaries to distribute during our outreach at this stadium. Many interesting and some volatile discussions ensued! Some JW’s tore up our tracts and actually snatched them out of the hands of other JW’s who were trying to read them. However, a number of good contacts and conversations ensued with follow up of those interested. You can view, or download and print many of our evangelistic and discipleship tracts which have been uploaded on our www.livingstonefellowship.co.za website. Biblical Exposition Workshop Please pray for our upcoming Biblical Exposition Workshop, 24 November. As part of our Back to the Bible Reformation 500 movement, three of the authors of our Biblical Preaching Handbook will be conducting a Biblical Exposition workshop to pastors, evangelists and chaplains in Cape Town. Those outside Cape Town can join us via livestreaming.
