Back to the Bible Mission
By God's grace I have returned from a Mission to Mpumalanga. For over 15 years I have been a regular guest lecturer of Back to the Bible Mission, presenting weeks of lectures on Missiology and Church History to students from over 20 countries across Africa. As one approaches Back to the Bible Mission, the large white Cross dominates the Valley and, lit up at night, can be seen from a great distance. The huge white Cross is symbolic of the Christian witness and Missionary vision which radiates out from this strategic Leadership Training Mission. Each week day morning at Back to the Bible Mission begins with the bell being rung at 6am. Devotions at the top of the hill, at the auditorium, involves all students, faculty and staff. As the principal, Professor Shai Mulder, regularly reminds us: “Your walk with God is even more important than your work for God.” Each morning the students and staff share prayer requests and praise items, with Scripture memory verses and focus on a different country from Operation World for intercession. Back to the Bible Mission is truly “a house of prayer for all nations.” The vision of Africa for Christ is reinforced in many pictures and posters. The Great Commission is our Supreme Ambition
During this latest mission, I lectured on Missions in the Old Testament, Missions in the Book of Acts, Early Missionaries and Church Fathers in North Africa, Culture and Christianity, Cross-cultural Communication, What does it Take to be a Missionary, Motives for Missions, Recognising False Calls and Wrong Motives, the Greatness of the Great Commission, the Challenge of the Greatest Century of Missions, Examples of Excellence in Missions, Why the Greatest Missionary is the Bible, 9 Ways of Going and Making Disciples of All Nations. I also presented sermons on Marvellous Mothers with a Mission, Your Character Determines Your Competence and Do You Have What it Takes to Persevere? (Our IT department will be uploading audios and videos of these presentations on the www.FrontlineMissionSA.org website in the next weeks.)

Body, Mind and Spirit
I was also invited to give presentations to the Student Council and to the staff of the college. On Wednesday afternoon, I conducted Physical Training and practicals with the students and staff. Question and Answer sessions with eager students went on for many hours and sometimes late into the night. The programme also included an evening of missionary focus on Sudan and a day of prayer and fasting for everyone at the college.

The Greatest Century of Missions
As part of our Libraries for Pastors programme, I was able to provide each student, of all three years, with their own copy of The Greatest Century of Missions book as inspiring examples of excellence.

Missions to KwaZulu-Natal and Mozambique
Please pray for me as I am now involved in another mission to KwaZulu Natal. And please also pray for our team in Mozambique. “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the Word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have Faith.” 2 Thessalonians 3:1-2

Dear Friends

Thank you very much for your prayers, love and encouragement at this most difficult time. It has been a very long and hard battle against cancer. It was Lenora’s expressed wish that we, her family and friends, do not mourn her death, but celebrate her life. This we attempted to do in the Memorial Service in the Upper Room Bathman Memorial Hall last Thursday night. The Upper Room was packed to overflowing and many gave testimony as to how Lenora had impacted, enriched and transformed their lives.

On Saturday, 20 November, we joined the Dragon Boating Fraternity for a special Flower Ceremony in honour of Lenora. Each boat presented a paddle salute and placed flowers on the waters in Table Bay Harbour.

On Monday, 22 November, the funeral service for Lenora was held in the beautiful Dutch Reformed Church in Franschhoek. We brought some of the beautiful quilts that Lenora had made and laid them over some of the gallery balconies and pews to demonstrate Lenora’s creativity and industry.

Two of Lenora’s paddles, which she had used in representing South Africa in Dragon Boating events and races in Sarasota, Florida in America, Florence, Italy, Vienna, Austria, Venice, Italy and in Malaysia and Spain were on display and the Austrian flag.

Knowing Lenora’s love for music, we had Handel’s Messiah playing as guests arrived. A slide presentation of Lenora’s extraordinary life was screened before the service. During the tributes and eulogies, musical items were presented and over an hour of testimonies from family and friends celebrated the extraordinary life and legacy of Lenora Hammond. This included Lenora’s eldest sister, Deborah, from Austria, and a group of leaders from KwaSizabantu Mission flew in from KwaZulu Natal. Two of Rev. Erlo Stegen’s daughters, Naomi and Ruth, also flew down to participate in the funeral service.

3 April 1977, I was converted to Christ.

It happened at the Ster Kinekor cinema in Pinelands...

My family had moved from Rhodesia to Cape Town. We were living in Pinelands, just a few kilometres from where I had been born. It was Sunday evening, 3rd April 1977, when I walked over to the local cinema, with little realisation of how dramatically that would change my life forever.

Ambushed by the Gospel
At that time, commercial activity on Sunday was prohibited in South Africa by law. No cinemas were open, in honour of the Lord’s Day. The local Baptist Church had hired out the cinema for an Evangelistic rally. The guest preacher, Rev. Rex Matthie, preached a powerful message on what Christ had suffered for us: “Jesus died for you. What have you ever done for Him?”

Conviction
I sat stunned and ashamed. I had never done anything for God. My family was quite secular. We never attended church services, not even on Christmas days. Sunday school had never been part of my life. We did not even pray before meals. Like my father, I described myself as an “agnostic.”

Contrition
Now, all of the arguments I had picked up over the years against God and Christianity seemed awfully puny as I bowed before the Creator of the universe. I could not question the existence of God. His presence was overwhelming. I had nothing that I could say in my defense. I realised that I was lost. If I had died that night, I knew that I would go into an eternity separated from God, in hell. I was a selfish, self-centred, ungrateful creature. I had never even so much as thanked God for the life He had given me, or for His many evidences of grace in me and my families, life.

Grace
My mother had told me that there had been complications before I was born. My mother, who was a nurse, had made use of thalidomide tablets, which were prevalent in 1959, to counter-act morning sickness and nausea. Children born to those who had used thalidomide were born horribly deformed, frequently without arms, or legs. My mother had been advised to have an abortion. Even though abortions were illegal in South Africa at that time, because of the revulsion and hysteria of many over the severe deformities suffered by those affected by thalidomide, abortions were not only being allowed in these cases, but encouraged. My mother told me how she just could not bring herself to consider it and called for a hospital chaplain to pray for her baby. Although we were not a praying family, this story had made quite an impact on me and I realised that there was a Higher Power who had smiled upon us and spared my life before I had even taken my first breath. Rex Mathie declared: “If God has preserved your life thus far, it is for a reason!”

Mercy
As I sat in that cinema hearing the Word of God, a whole lot of other incidents came to my memory. I remembered when I was just 5 years old, I had been run over by a car, just in front of our home. My mother ran out, lifted up the car and pulled me out from under it! I was rushed to the hospital, where the doctor was amazed. Although plainly one of the tyres had gone right across my chest (the tyre tracks were clearly visible on my clothes) there was no injury. I remember the doctor declaring: “God must have been looking after him!”

God
This was my first conscious recollection of the concept of God. The picture that I had in my mind was of one of the Colstream Guards standing outside Buckingham Palace in London. He had a long white beard but was dressed immaculately in a red soldier’s uniform with a tall bearskin hat on his head and a rifle, with bayonet fixed, in his hands. The similarity of the two words guard and God, made me think of God as a soldier. He was plainly up in the clouds and had excellent vision because He could see me all the way down in Southern Africa. Somehow He had been able to intervene to save my life. That was my first concept of God. The preacher said: “if God has preserved your life thus far, it is for a reason.” I wondered what that reason could be.

Bombardments
All the life threatening experiences that my parents had related to me came flooding back into my memory as well. What if God had not protected my mother and father when they were enduring the mass aerial bombardments of the Second World War? Both my mother and father had experienced people being blown up to the left and right of them and, yet, they had not been harmed. For what purpose had God preserved their lives?

More Lives Than a Cat!
There were also many incidents that my parents had mentioned of how “lucky” I had been: when I had fallen deathly ill with a contagious disease on board HMS Pendennis Castle sailing between England and South Africa, the ship had wanted to put me off at the Canary Islands. Again, my secular parents had asked for prayer from a minister on board the ship and I had been healed. My mother also mentioned when, as an adventurous little boy, I had tried to cross a waterfall and was washed over! My mother had said that it was incredible that I had not been killed, or crippled in that and in so many other incidents. Several times my mother said to me: “You have more lives than a cat!”

Why?
Why had God preserved my life when I had not even acknowledged Him? I had not even prayed to God before that night. I had never even thanked Him for all of these incidents, which my parents had reminded me of through the years. In that cinema, on 3 April 1977, I felt myself standing before the Throne of Almighty God, guilty of disobeying His Law, justly deserving to be condemned to an eternity in hell. I was overwhelmed with a sense of my unworthiness and wickedness.

Commitment
There was no way that I could possible deserve God’s love, but I felt this absolutely overwhelming compulsion to stand up and go forward and make a public commitment of my life to Christ. The very least I could do was to thank God for all that He had done in Christ for me.

Conversion
They were singing “Just as I am without one plea but that Thy Blood was shed for me” as I walked down the aisle and bowed in prayer at the front of that cinema in Pinelands. One of the church deacons, Bill Parker, counselled me, explained the implications of what I was doing and led me in prayer. It was the most exhilarating experience. There could be no doubt whatsoever. God was reaching down and putting life within me. I had been deaf, dumb, blind and dead in my trespasses and sins. For the very first time my (spiritual) eyes were being opened. For the first time I could consciously sense the presence of God. In fact, I was absolutely overwhelmed with a sense of the presence of God, His love and His mercy. I trembled before His holiness and power, even as I revelled in the joy of knowing that my sins were forgiven. I was a new creature in Christ!

Joy
I wanted to jump and leap and shout and proclaim what God had done. This was a completely new experience for me. With a German mother and an English father, we Anglo-Saxon’s do not particularly go much into expressing emotion about anything. My upbringing had very much been in the restrained, “cool, calm and collected” British tradition. But, as I walked and skipped on my way home from the cinema that night, all kinds of emotions were bubbling within me. I could not restrain it.

Called
I was absolutely overwhelmed with the conviction that God had called me to a lifetime of service as a missionary! But what did I know about missions? The only missionary that I had ever heard about was David Livingstone and that was from the history books. Of course, I had sometimes heard reports about missionaries being killed by Communist terrorists in the war in Rhodesia. I had wondered why anyone would do anything so stupid as to go into a war zone and present themselves as targets for blood-thirsty Marxist guerrillas. But now, on the night of my conversion, I was absolutely convinced that God was commanding me to go and to proclaim His Gospel and to be dedicated for the rest of my life to serving and extending His Kingdom.

Coming Home
What was I to say at home? I could not wait to tell my parents what God had done for me. However, as I opened the door, I saw that someone had beaten me to it. A friend of the family, who had also been at the rally, had rushed over to inform my incredulous parents that their son had gone forward at one of these “Billy Graham things!” Jeers and scorns greeted me.

Confrontation
“So, you have become a born again Baptist like Jimmy Carter!” That really stung. As a patriotic Rhodesian, I despised everything that Jimmy Carter was doing in betraying our and so many other, countries into the hands of Marxist revolutionaries. To us Jimmy Carter was the epitome of a hypocrite and a traitor. Shamefully I lashed back with razor sharp tongue defending my conversion and disassociating from everything that Jimmy Carter stood for. Like my parents, I was an argumentative type and rose to the challenge with characteristic verbal aggression.

Repentance
Later that night, as I bowed in prayer at the side of my bed for the first time in my life, I was ashamed that the very first witness I had given to my parents had been to dishonour them and argue. How would I ever be able to be a Christian? I despaired at the sinful desire to justify myself rising so quickly out of the heart of one who had, at that very hour, given his life to Christ. What kind of poor excuse for a Christian could I ever hope to be?

Christian Union
The next day at Pinelands High School, Mark Liprini, one of the boys from Pinelands Baptist Church who had been at the rally, came over and introduced himself to me. He told me of the Christian Union that met during break time. It was tremendous to join in singing songs of praises to the Lord with others who loved Jesus. I had no idea that there were so many Christians at school.

Introduction to Sunday Worship
The next Sunday was Easter Sunday. The Liprini family from the church came and collected me for morning worship. I am so glad they did. I was dreading having to go to church for the first time. I do not think people brought up in church-going families realise how intimidating it is for a secular person to enter a church building! No more would we think of going into an exclusive club, where we were not members, than to walk, on our own, into a church building. It was so very helpful and thoughtful of the Liprini family to have driven over to my home and taken me to Pinelands Baptist for the first time.

Experiencing the Reality of Hymns in Worship
That first Sunday morning service was absolutely tremendous. I was astounded that I knew the hymns. We had sung these very same hymns in school assemblies in Rhodesia. Yet, now, for the first time, I was understanding what I was singing! I marvelled that for so many years I had sung hymns that had been insensible to me. Yet now they were coming alive and I was no longer singing a hymn, but worshiping God in thanksgiving for the reality of what He was doing in my own experience!

Communist Idolatry in Moscow
The guest speaker, Rev. Rex Mathie, proclaimed the Resurrection of Christ. He described in great detail how on Easter Sunday, in Moscow, in the Soviet Union, long lines of Communists file past the corpse of Vladimir Lenin, to see their god. He is dead. In fact, a full time taxidermist was employed by the Communist Party of the Soviet Union to maintain the illusion of life-likeness for the decaying corpse of Lenin. Very little of his original body remains. Mostly the worshiping Communists are only seeing plaster of paris repairs for the ears, nose, etc. which had already fallen off. There was absolutely no doubt that Lenin is dead.

Christ is Risen
However, on the other side of Red Square, in Moscow, St. Basil’s Orthodox Church has a ritual each Easter Sunday. The congregation walks around the church exclaiming: “Where is He? He is not here. Where is He? He is not here.” Then the minister exclaims: “HE IS RISEN!” And then the entire congregation resounds in response: “HE IS RISEN INDEED!” What a contrast between the dead ideology of communism and the Resurrection power of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!

We Serve a Risen Saviour
When we sung that hymn: “We serve a Risen Saviour…” it felt as if my heart would burst with joy and excitement for this tremendous truth of the Gospel.

No Turning Back
Another hymn that I sung at that time continued to resound within my heart and mind: “I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back! Praise the Lord! No turning back!”

Saved to Serve
My pastor, Rev. Doc Watson, later testified that from the beginning I harassed him for more teaching and for more opportunities to serve the Lord. Within 2 months, I was working on a Scripture Union team for a holiday mission in Somerset West. During that outreach I gave my first message, A Missionary Challenge, at the local Presbyterian Church in the evening service.

Literature Ministry, Youth Work and Evangelism
Within the year, I was a Sunday school teacher and a youth leader and administering the book table at Pinelands Baptist. I devoured Christian literature, attended every meeting and training course possible, whether on evangelism, counselling, holiness, or missions. Door-to-door evangelism, placing the Gospel of John in every home in Pinelands, tract distribution in the streets and at railway stations, ministering in old ages homes and other Christian service filled my days. One prayer I prayed over and over was the words of that chorus: “Break me, melt me, mould me, fill me, Spirit of the Living God fall afresh on me.”

An Adventure of Discipleship
That was the beginning of this incredible adventure of discipleship which has taken me across 4 continents, over 140 missions behind enemy lines, smuggling Bibles to persecuted Christians, serving the suffering in communist and Muslim lands. Whether under fire, or in prison, sick, or healthy, I have experienced the reality of Gods mercy, guidance, provision and protection. The will of God will never lead you where the grace of God cannot keep you.

“And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the Word through the accompanying signs. Amen.” Mark 16:20

Multi-Generational Ministry of Multiplication
It is our duty and destiny to be involved in a ministry of multiplication with a multi-generational vision. We are called to be strong and to be faithful as we equip and empower Evangelists to seek first the Kingdom of God, making disciples of nations, teaching obedience to all things that the Lord has commanded. The Great Commission is our supreme ambition. Christ’s last command must be our first concern.

Literature Distribution and Leadership Training
Since completing our Great Commission Course 2020, we have been planning and preparing for a series of important Follow-Up Missions throughout Southern and Central Africa, into North Africa. By God's grace, tens of thousands of Bibles and Christian textbooks have already been printed and are enroute. Now we need to trust the Lord for the resources necessary to transport our teams to the remote, neglected and desperately needy mission fields, where they are needed for Leadership Training, Literature distribution and Love in action.

Back to the Bible for Reformation and Revival
We have a series of upcoming Biblical Preaching Workshops, Muslim Evangelism Seminars and Great Commission Course Training in countries where we have never before held such programmes.

4-Wheel Drive Field Vehicle Needed
Our Mission vehicles are very old and frequently in need of repairs. We would very much like to acquire an additional 4-Wheel Drive before our next Overland Mission, which needs to traverse Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Botswana.

Printing Projects
We have a number of books and tracts, including translations, ready to be printed, just awaiting funds for the go-ahead.

From the Frontline
Do remember to tune into our From the Frontline radio podcasts, uploaded every Tuesday evening. Most recently, I had the joy of interviewing our long-standing missionary friend, John Boyd, over his 25 Years with Missionary Aviation Fellowship (MAF) and since his retirement from President of MAF, his new ministry with the Institute for Global Engagement – Dealing at the highest levels of government seeking to persuade those regimes that persecuted Christians, such as in Vietnam, Laos, Uzbekistan and China, to end religious persecution and allow religious freedom in their countries. Their economic arguments have persuaded a number of countries, such as Vietnam and Uzbekistan, to allow unprecedented religious freedom and end decades of severe persecution. “And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’” Matthew 25:40

Pray for Muslim Background Believers
At a recent prayer meeting of missionaries and evangelists focused on reaching Muslims for Christ, we were told of a Muslim background believer given a warning/ultimatum to reject Christ and return to Islam, or expect to be killed. Unfortunately, these kinds of threats and bullying tactics and intimidation are all too common. Please continue to pray for God's shield of protection over our missionaries and those to whom we minister.

Livingstone House Building Project
We are in the process of converting our attic at our Mission Headquarters into a multi-purpose hall and extra accommodation. This has been long overdue, as we have had to accommodate missionaries and guests in tents. There are also more volunteers who would gladly work at our Mission, if we can provide accommodation. Also, for our Education and Training seminars, we desperately need a larger hall and there is abundant space in our attic, which we are seeking to convert into an upper room. If funds allow, we will build on several more bedrooms as well.

More Intercessors, Supporters and Missionary Volunteers Needed

I am happy to record my deep appreciation to the unchangeable God of Heaven for the gifted ministry of Dr. Hammond.

My first recollection of Dr. Hammond was sitting around a table in a local hotel in Belfast Northern Ireland, witnessing a conversation between him and the late, Dr Ian R.K. Paisley.

I was totally absorbed with respect for both men as they shared their analysis of the spiritual state of the world in general and Europe and Africa in particular. The Biblical insights that God had clearly bestowed upon His servants was challenging, inspirational and influential.

Each had a deep love for the Lord Jesus Christ which was reflected in their love for the precious Word of God, and in their love for the eternal souls of the people. I felt that I was in the company of two spiritually giants. It was an honour to prayerfully listen to them discuss matters relating to the Kingdom of our God.
During Dr Hammond’s visit to Northern Ireland he ministered to the congregation of which I was the Pastor. His unique style of ministry linked to his ability to adapt to some of the most threatening of situations left a deep imprint upon the hearts of the people as he sought to bring the message of the Gospel to the region’s beyond. To us he stood out as a man amongst men.

We could not and would not forget his visit to Northern Ireland.

Some years ago my wife and I along with two other friends had the opportunity to visit Cape Town. Dr. and Mrs Hammond kindly took time out of their busy schedule to meet with us and show us around the City and many places of interest. Their fellowship enriched our hearts.

Dr. Hammond; many people have been richly blessed through the ministry that you have received. You have proved that God’s Grace is sufficient for you and that no good thing does He withhold from them that walk uprightly. Hebrews 13 v 8

The location of your celebration reminds of the favoured Andrew Murray whose ministry continues to transcend the boundaries of several generations.

I have every confidence that such will be the benediction of our gracious God upon a life that has preserved the history of the past, and has presented the only hope for the future in the Lord Jesus Christ. In Joshua 10 verse 14 we read, “And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD heartened unto the voice of a man; for the LORD fought for Israel”.

I first heard Peter on Christian radio in February 1988. I had been a Christian one month. Of course, hearing what Peter said about Africa and the inroads he was making into Angola and Mozambique, etc., pricked my heart that missionaries need support. So that radio broadcast began our 32-year relationship with Peter and his family. Our Christian friend who we introduced to Peter's ministry said, "Peter accomplishes more than any one person I know." And that is so true. We are grateful for Peter and his friendship and the educational materials he shares with his supporters.

I think the second most important decision Peter has made in his life — the first being accepting Christ Jesus as his Lord and Saviour — was marrying Lenora. Together, they have such a beautiful family, one that continues to grow and bless us even here in the United States.

I cherish the visit we made to Cape Town and stayed with his family, going hiking and visiting the animal preserves. I also cherish the time Peter came with his family to Florida. We love and pray for Peter and his whole family. Happy 60th Birthday, Peter!

Peter, apart from my parents and pastors, you are the person to whom I owe the most in my walk with God. Attending those early Biblical Worldview Seminars blew my mind with info-overload! They stretched my knowledge of the application of Scripture, and challenged my walk with God. Somehow from the very beginning of our relationship, you entrusted me with teaching others: I thank you for that confidence expressed in me. It forced me to think through much of what I believe as a Christian, and helped me clarify my faith and the doctrines by which I professed to live.
Thank you for the opportunity to host Salt and Light, both 20 years ago, and now recently these past two years once more. Thank you for your uncensored confidence in me; through these interviews, I met wonderful saints who stretched me spiritually and embarrassed my weak commitment to Christ.
Thank you for confiding in me about your personal and family joys and woes. Thank you for listening to the advice I, on one or two occasions, could offer you. Thank you for your uncompromising stand for the right to life of the unborn child. When I think of you and your ministry, Proverbs 20:6 comes to mind, “Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, but who can find a faithful man?”Thank you for being a faithful man of God who is constantly pouring out your life for the service of your King. I know there are so many people that the Lord has allowed your life to impact. And only when you get to heaven will you be able to know just how many lives were changed because of your obedience to Christ. But please know that I am one them! The training I received from the Great Commission Course continues to be used in my life. It was also one of the best times of my life! And I was blessed to be able to watch and observe an imperfect man serve a perfect God with all his being. You truly live out what C.T. Studd said, “Only one life will soon be past. God has truly blessed my brother, as he has dedicated his life to seeking Him.
From a teenage boy he was touched and called to the Lord. He was obedient and through many obstacles persevered in changing lives to know Jesus. From a small boy he showed interest in history and love for animals.
Although not being brought up in a very religious home, he found his own way and answered the call. We all know Peter has been a perfect role model to many and was also blessed with a supporting wife and together they have brought up four children follow their examples. Now as we are aging and celebrating a 60th birthday with him, he has not slowed down. Both here and internationally he still touches so many people, still climbs mountains and supplies Bibles to all that wants to hear the word. Now a grandfather to two little boys, his family can all be so proud of him.
As a sister I cannot have asked for a better little brother to look up to. May the Lord keep you safe to do his work as you have for so many years.

Your ministry continues to be a life changing and profound experience for thousands as you have steadfastly and boldly preached His word through books, sermons, research, lectures, and dangerous missions! Never once have we witnessed a compromise of your faith and witness in honouring God’s will for your life, and in every situation PRAYER has been first and foremost. Perhaps the following quote best expresses your mission as you have endlessly worked for reformation in Africa.

I want to express my gratitude for Peter’s faithfulness and ministry for the past years. Peter’s teachings, writings and his travels here to the United States have been very effective in my life and have had a tremendous impact on my walk as well as an encouragement to me. Here in the USA, we haven’t seen the level to persecution and struggles that Peter has been through in his lifetime (as well as anyone on your team, I’m sure). But pressing on and seeing God’s faithfulness in spite of the difficult circumstances has been a great encouragement to many as well as to me!

Many times I’ve wondered if the issues that have come up in the past in South Africa and other countries in Africa will not eventually face us here in the United States. I can see that becoming more and more possible now more than ever with the social and political climate here. I think many of the things that Peter has written about in the past provide a roadmap to what we can expect to see. They provide guidance on how to persevere in times of trail.

By the way, I also enjoyed email conversations with your father, Bill a couple of years before his passing. After having spent a lot of time reading articles from Peter on your site, it was truly a blessing to read of how you and Peter got to know each other then got married when I read his book, “Going Through… Even if the Door is Closed”! You both are reaching many people in many ways!

I heard an interview with Peter on Christian Radio in 2000, where he was talking about the situation in Sudan. From that interview, I only knew his name and the missions in Sudan; unfortunately, the name “Frontline Fellowship” wasn’t mentioned. For months I tried to figure out how to find where he was, as I wanted to support the work in Sudan. The following year, my son Sebastian’s Sunday school was hosting their “Mission Week” to highlight the work of missionaries both in the U.S. and abroad. Sebastian, who was about 11, was asked to host a portion of the Mission Week service by interviewing two missionaries named Bill and Harriett Bathman. Before the Sunday school service, it was arranged for some of the kids to meet the Bathmans. During that meeting, Bill asked “Has anyone heard of Peter Hammond?” I was the only who one raised my hand, and was overjoyed to learn that Peter is his son in law. It seems God is a better search engine than even Google!

Peter, we have been honored to know you and your family for nearly two decades. It has been a joy to see your ministry grow – but even more so, to watch your children grow and become outstanding examples of God’s light. Your intellectually grounded defenses of Biblical Truth in times of moral relativism have sparked conversations that allowed our family to dig deeper in understanding. Your love of the history of the church has introduced us to many key leaders that allowed us to understand what our Faith has cost, and how much it is worth protecting and savoring. But above all, your willingness to put all things aside in order to proclaim Jesus is King and Savior is an inspiration, and we firmly believe is an example for how one must live in order to hear that incomprehensibly fulfilling phrase, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

We praise God for three shipments of precious Bibles and Christian books received in the last month. First, we received a 20-foot, 18-tonne container of Bibles and books from Eagles Nest Ministries. Then just a day later, a 30-foot container of over 22 tonnes of World Missionary Press Gospel booklets (over two million Gospel booklets, each 50-pages all Scripture, in 15 languages – English, Afrikaans, Xhosa, Zulu, Chichewa, French, Portuguese, Swahili, Sepedi, Sesotho, Shona, Tswana and Yao). Then a designated gift enabled us to buy, from the Bible Society, 790 Bibles in indigenous African languages, including: Afrikaans, Chichewa, Ndebele, Sesotho, Shona, Seswati, Tswana, Xhosa and Zulu. All told, over 40 tonnes of literature to offload, sort, categorise, designate and distribute. Many pastors, evangelists, teachers and missionaries have already come to our Literature4Africa stores to resupply their ministries and obtain essential spiritual ammunition for their outreaches and discipleship projects.

Conviction and Courage in the Battle for the Bible
On Reformation Day, we organised a guided tour of the Huguenot Museum and a noonday Reformation Celebration service at the Huguenot Monument in Franschhoek. It was at noon on 31 October 1517, that Professor Martin Luther launched the Protestant Reformation by nailing his 95 Theses on the door of the Schlosskirche (The Castle Church) in Wittenberg. Standing for Life
We also organised the Life Chain in Cape Town, which mobilised 150 people to dominate the Traffick Island at Buitengracht Street, at the busiest intersection between the Cape Town International Conference Centre and the Waterfront. Our 18 literature distributors distributed well over 4,000 pro-life and evangelistic leaflets to passing motorists and pedestrians.

Missions in the Mall
We praise God for another successful series of Missions in the Malls. Approximately 30 volunteers and mission workers were mobilised to distribute over 3,000 leaflets and a thousand balloons with Scripture messages on them, in three different shopping malls around the Cape Peninsula on National Womens Day, Friday 9 August. We have been conducting these Missions in the Malls every year since 1995. We read in Acts 17:16-17, that the Apostle Paul was greatly distressed to see that Athens was full of idols, so he reasoned in the market place day by day, with those that happened to be there. “Does not wisdom cry out and understanding lift up her voice? She takes her stand on the top of the high hill, beside the way, where the paths meet. She cries out by the gates, at the entry of the city, at the entrance of the doors.” Proverbs 8:1-3

Way of the Master and Evangelism Explosion
We had interesting conversations with passers-by, including some identifying themselves as ex-gangsters, a person who worked for the United Nations, Muslims, New Agers, Atheists and Agnostics. As always, we found Way of the Master tracts great conversation starters and points of contact to engage in evangelistic conversations. We had many opportunities to follow Evangelism Explosion questions and lead people through the Ten Commandments to show them their need of Salvation through Christ alone. Some people asked us to pray with them in the Mall. A number of people, including teachers, requested quantities of our leaflets to distribute to their school, friends and family. We distributed The Biggest Question DVDs to those we counselled. Our team at Parow Shopping Centre actually ran out of DVDS.

Stop the Traffick
In preparation for our National Women’s Day outreaches in the Malls, we screened Trade of Innocents and produced the video Slavery Today – Setting the Captives Free, which can be viewed online, or listened to as an audio. Emma Vaughan-Jones wrote an article: Atrocities of Modern Slavery. You can hear an interview with her on this, on From the Frontline.

Childrens Ministry Leadership Summit
On 16-17 August, we participated in the Childrens Ministry Leadership Summit at the Global School of Theology in Killarney. Our Literature4Africa ministry distributed about a tonne of Sunday School materials, Bible Study materials, New Testaments, Bibles, Gospel booklets, posters, audio visuals and Christian books to over 100 Sunday school teachers and pastors who participated in the event. I was invited to give a presentation on the Biblical Worldview and fielded numerous questions during the Question and Answer and later, Panel Discussion times. There was much discussion and many expressed their gratitude for both the presentation and the resources to enrich their ministries. Responding to the Crisis in Sudan
The dramatic developments in Sudan have been dealt with in our Sudan in Crisis at a Crossroads article and on our From the Frontline podcast – Episode 81 – Understanding the Crisis in Sudan. Please continue to pray for the impact of the over 120,000 Bibles and books which we delivered and distributed in the Nuba Mountains in Sudan earlier this year. Please also pray for the resources necessary for our next Bibles and Christian textbooks printing project for delivery into Sudan next year. Because of the tremendous logistical challenges and distances involved, it is vital for the printing process to be completed before the end of this year. These Bibles for Sudan and Textbooks for Teachers projects are entirely dependent on designated giving from those who share in the vision of fulfilling the Great Commission in Sudan.

Serving the Suffering in Zimbabwe
The announcement of the death of long-time dictator of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe and the bizarre praises heaped on this war criminal and persecutor, necessitated us to inject some Christian integrity and Biblical balance by speaking up for the many Christian victims who died in Zimbabwe under his oppression and for those who continue to suffer under the Marxist ZANU regime. Self-Determination Conference
United Liberty Alliance organised a Self Determination Conference, to which participants flew from as far away as Pretoria, or drove from Mossel Bay and Port Elizabeth, to participate. There were also international participants who participated through Skype. I was asked to address the conference on Successful Secession Movements that I witnessed in Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia and South Sudan. Children’s Ministry
Our Mission team was invited to run a Classical Conversations programme for 67 home educated children in Somerset West. Our theme was Missions. It involved action songs, presentations and practicals focused on the Great Commission, the Apostle Paul, Perpetua, Martin Luther and David Livingstone. We were also invited to conduct a Holiday Mission in Parow and we hosted a Classical English Literature and Latin Seminar and Pilgrims Progress Workshop for homeschoolers at our Mission. Last week, I led a group of homeschoolers for a guided tour of Rhodes Cottage in Muizenberg. Please pray for our upcoming programme for Home educators on the Legacy of President Paul Kruger (10 October).

The Fight for Life
We downloaded and screened a preview of the Unplanned film. This was followed up with launching a campaign to bring pressure to bear on Ster Kinekor and Nu Metro (the primary big screen film networks in South Africa) to bring Unplanned to the big screen. We have also conducted radio programmes and remained in contact with the producers of the film. This is a powerful message to encourage and mobilise pro-lifers to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. Literature4Africa
In August, we had the opportunity and challenge of offloading another container of 18 tonnes of Bibles and books in pouring rain and freezing cold. Strikes in the harbour delayed the offloading of our container for over a week and when it was finally delivered, it was in the middle of a rainstorm. Our team had to improvise and set up a tent over the container to enable us to keep the literature dry while offloading in the middle of howling wind and pouring rain. Since then, pastors, teachers and evangelists from far and wide descended on our mission stores to resupply their various ministries, schools and outreaches. We are soon expecting another two container shipments, which are scheduled to arrive on the same day! These logistical challenges keep us on our toes.

Mighty Men’s Camps
Our Literature4Africa ministry was invited to set up literature tables at the Mighty Men’s Camp and the related Women’s Camp, where we distributed over 2 tonnes of literature to enrich and empower their ministries.

Homeschool Expo
Our Mission has actively promoted Home education in Southern Africa since we organised an education conference in Cape Town 1991. Since 1995, our Christian Liberty Books ministry has been importing and producing textbooks and other resources for home educators. The steady growth of home schooling in South Africa is a great encouragement. Every year there are more participants and a steady stream of visitors who come past our display and table. There has been particular interest and appreciation in our history books: The Greatest Century of Reformation; The Greatest Century of Missions, Victorious Christians Who Changed the World; Sketches from South African History (now also translated into Afrikaans) and our Bible Survey books: Old Testament Survey and New Testament Survey.

Back to the Bible Preaching Workshops
This Saturday, 28 September, we will be hosting the latest in our series of Biblical Preaching Workshops on the Gospel of Mark. In our previous workshops this year, we focused on Genesis, Judges and Psalms.

Lenora in Arizona
Please pray for Lenora and her sister Debbie, who are today, at the funeral of Harriett Bathman who passed away 14 September, peacefully in her sleep, at age 88. Harriett Bathman is being buried in the Military cemetery next to her husband, Rev. Bill Bathman, who served in the U.S. Navy and thus was entitled to a Military burial. Lenora has been in Arizona for the last two months assisting her mother, who had been hospitalised. Lenora is also battling her own cancer, third time around, now stage 4 in the bone. Literature4Africa
This week, on Tuesday, we offloaded another container of 18 tonnes of Bibles and books, in pouring rain and freezing cold. Our team had to improvise a tent over the container to enable us to keep the literature dry while offloading in the middle of wind and rain. Today, pastors, teachers and evangelists from far and wide are descending on the Mission stores to re-supply their various outreaches and ministries.

Classical Conversations for Children
On Monday, Emma, Tobie, Ray, Alpha, Dylan and Rozanne ran a packed programme for 67 children, all home educated, in Somerset West. The theme was Missions and it involved action songs, presentations and practicals, focusing on the Great Commission, the Apostle Paul, Perpetua, Martin Luther and David Livingstone.

Global Reformation Conference Broadcast and Livestream
Last week, we broadcast and livestreamed the Global Reformation Conference every day from Monday, 15th, to Saturday, 20th July, without any technical hitches. Our IT man, Angelo, excelled himself by doing the necessary research and organising a much better platform and programme than we had dared hope for. We received emails from as far afield as Japan, Burma, Lichtenstein, Austria, from around Africa, North America and even Australia. Now all 22-hours of the broadcast and livestream are uploaded on our Video archive, so that any church, college, or midweek cell group, home school family, or mission, can screen the full conference, including: Eurochor worship in some of the most spectacular venues. Lectures, history, videos of historic sites in Wittenberg and discussions from the Coalition on Revival Back to the Bible Conference in Cape Town and the livestream interaction with questions and answers and participation by Coalition on Revival contacts in England and America. This landmark event shows that we can organise international conferences with interaction on online platforms, so that even those who cannot afford either the time or travel expenses can participate in such a programme.

Mission to Mpumalanga
During his mission to Mpumalanga, Hunter lectured on New Testament Greek, to all three years of students of Back to the Bible Mission. There was much enthusiasm as how this enabled them to better understand the Scriptures. Back to the Bible Mission is one of the most strategic and effective Bible colleges that we know of in Africa. It is run by General Shai Mulder, who was the youngest Brigadier General in the South African Defence Force, Commander of the Military Academy and Head of the Engineers. After “retiring” at age 60, General and Mrs Mulder accepted the call to lead and oversee Back to the Bible Training College and have greatly expanded it. There are now over 110 students from 20 countries throughout Africa. They have had the privilege of training many thousands of pastors and missionaries who are working throughout the continent. Both General and Mrs Mulder earned Bachelors, Masters and Doctorates in Theology since their “retirement,” while working full time in this very intensive and demanding Mission. During Academic Recesses, they head off to the mission field and have planted Bible colleges in Ethiopia and ministered in Malawi and Madagascar. I have been part of the Faculty of Back to the Bible Mission since 2007 and lecture there every year on Missiology, Biblical Worldview and History.

Mission to Mozambique
After his mission to Mpumalanga, Hunter drove into Mozambique with a friend of the mission, Isak, who has participated in the Great Commission Course and runs a Mission school. Hunter was able to report back on the tremendous growth and opportunities for ministry in this once closed country.

Mozambique Was Our First Mission Field
Mozambique was our first mission field. Frontline Fellowship has been involved in Mozambique since 1982. When we began our work in Mozambique, in 1982, it was the least evangelised country in the Southern Hemisphere with barely 4% of the population being Protestant. Bibles were banned. There were no missionaries allowed in the country. There was no religious freedom. Nobody under 18 was allowed in a church building. As documented in my book: In the Killing Fields of Mozambique, vast areas of the country were subjected to scorched earth campaigns by the Soviet-led FRELIMO communist dictatorship.

Answers to Prayer
30 Years ago, this October, I and a team of American paramedics were captured and imprisoned in communist Mozambique. We praise God for the tremendous changes that have taken place in this troubled country over the last three decades. Now over 30% of the population claim to be Protestants, Evangelicals and Bible-believing Christians. There is now religious freedom in the country. Missionaries are able to establish schools with independent Christian curriculums and the church is growing dramatically. However, there is still a desperate need for more Bible teaching, Bibles in the local languages and Christian textbooks, particularly in Portuguese. Please pray for our missionary intern, Alieske, who is serving at a mission base in Mozambique at this time.

Childrens Holiday Bible Mission
John, Emma, Alpha, Rozanne, Ray, Daniela, Calvin and Dylan conducted a Children’s Holiday Mission at a nearby church in Parow, which included children from several countries throughout Africa, who participated. The theme was The Armour of God. Each day, the team taught the children about two pieces of God’s Armour. They ensured that there were many strong calls to obey the Gospel throughout the Holiday Bible Mission. The church was very grateful to have our team bless the children of Parow with the Word of God, daily lessons, team-building activities, songs and simply connecting with the children. They have invited us to run another Bible Mission during the next school holidays.

Science vs. Naturalism Seminar
By God's grace, we had over 70 guests for our Science vs. Naturalism seminar and Childrens programme hosted at our Mission. Our guest speaker was Hendrik Basson, Founder of the Truth and Science Forum and author of Evolusie – Wetenskap of Geloof. He was also the presenter of the TV series, “Evolusie en die Lang Oorlog Teen God.” Our IT department completed the Creation vs. Atheism Seminar Audiovisual Boxset with 7 hours of video lectures by Dr. Philip Stott at an earlier Atheism vs. Science Seminar. The AV Boxset also includes 22 hours of audio lectures, available in a 6-disc boxset from Christian Liberty Books. Back to the Bible for Reformation and Revival Conference
On 24 May, we hosted a Back to the Bible for Reformation and Revival Conference in Cape Town. The Coalition on Revival documents, the 95 Theses for Reformation Today and Franschhoek Declaration Strategy documents were discussed, endorsed and supported. Many of these presentations and discussions have been edited and are available on our www.FrontlineMissionSA.org website. A number of them were incorporated in the Global Reformation Conference Broadcast. So far, Frontline Fellowship has conducted Back to the Bible Conferences in Zambia, Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Congo, Sudan and South Africa. We have also conducted Back to the Bible events in Belgium, the Netherlands, Australia, United States of America and in Germany.

Back to the Bible Preaching Workshop on Psalms
This Saturday, we will be hosting another preaching workshop, this time on preaching from poetic books, particularly focusing on The Psalms. This will be the third FIRE Preaching Workshop for this year. Church leaders have already communicated that these Workshops have convicted them to proclaim God’s Word more faithfully and begin expository preaching in their churches.

Missions in the Mall
Please pray for our upcoming national Women’s Day missions in the mall, planned for 9 August. Every year, since 1995, we have been organising outreaches in numerous shopping malls around the country, setting up literature tables and displays and distributing literature and balloons with Scripture messages on them. “Wisdom calls aloud outside; she raises her voice in the open squares. She cries out in the chief concourses, at the openings of the gates in the city she speaks her words.” Proverbs 1:20-21. So, every Women’s Day, 9 August, for the last 25 years, we have distributed thousands of tracts, leaflets, Gospel booklets and engaged in hundreds of evangelistic conversations and counselling, praying with people in the malls and entrusting New Testaments to those that we counsel.

Childrens Ministry Leadership Summit
We have been invited to be part of the Childrens Ministry Leadership Summit (16-17 August) at the Global School of Theology. I have been invited to speak on Biblical Worldview and our Literature4Africa ministry will be setting up tables to distribute much needed Sunday school material to participants.

Equipping Home Educators
Please pray for upcoming historic tours and our next Home Educators Open Day, which will focus on Classical English Literature and Latin. We will also be organising a guided tour of the Huguenot Museum and Monument and conducting a Reformation Celebration Service on Thursday, 31 October in Franschhoek.

William Carey Bible Institute
Our new www.WilliamCareyBI.com website is live with a treasure trove of books, manuals, lecture notes, video documentaries, audio lectures, Bible studies, links, tests, assignments and projects, designed to guide home educated students, pastors, chaplains, evangelists and missionaries in the field, with everything necessary to become a well-read, effective servant of God, committed to fulfilling the Great Commission, making disciples, teaching obedience to all things that the Lord has commanded. We have had numerous authors donate their materials for WCBI.

Over the last 15 years, WCBI has been steadily growing. We now offer 26 courses. Many tonnes of Study Bibles and library and textbooks have been donated to Bible colleges across Africa. We praise God for authors, missionaries and lecturers who have freely donated their materials for us to upload and make available to students. As a result, we are able to make the essential textbooks, lecture notes, audio and video lectures, available, completely free. WCBI does not charge students, but depends upon the free will offerings of God's people to provide this service to Christians worldwide, especially focused on those in Restricted Access Areas. May God be pleased to use these resources for equipping and empowering God's people to be more effective in His service.

Please Pray for Lenora and her Mother
Lenora is at this time flying to assist her mother, Harriett Bathman, who has been hospitalised and is needing to be moved into an assisted living arrangement. Lenora is also battling her own cancer, third time around, now stage-4 in the bone. Just yesterday, she was at the hospital receiving treatment and physio. Lenora had planned to visit her mother later in the year, but this crisis has forced her to leave at very short notice.

We desperately need more prayer, more trained missionary volunteers, more vehicles, more resources and still need more support to adequately respond to the urgent day-to-day needs and tremendous opportunities before us. Africa for Christ!

Greetings in the precious Name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

By God's grace, so far this year, we have completed the Biblical Worldview Summit, Great Commission Course, March for Life, missions to Uganda and Sudan and across South Africa, including ministering at the Ministers Conference at KwaSizabantu Mission with a record 2,500 participants from 29 countries. Our missionaries to the Nuba Mountains of Sudan managed to deliver the largest shipment of Bibles and books ever delivered to an officially Islamic country that we are aware of. Over 118,000 Bibles and books in English and Arabic, were delivered to over 130 schools, churches and Bible colleges throughout the remote Nuba Mountains region of Sudan. We also completed the six year Bible Survey, publishing the New Testament Survey book and Audio MP3 Boxset. Many of these have been donated to colleges and pastors throughout Africa.

We have many invitations to minister throughout Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania and even further afield. However that will not be possible without a dramatic infusion of funds and increase of support.

Our Mission Manager, Colin Newman, has alerted us to a severe financial crisis which we are facing at the Mission. All of our reserves and funds have been exhausted. That includes our sister ministries, Christian Liberty Books, Africa Christian Action and Gospel Defence League. Lenora has even made her vehicle fund from her inheritance available to pay staff support and meet end of month commitments for the previous month of April. For the first time in her adult life, Lenora is without a car.

By God's grace, as a Faith Mission, Frontline Fellowship has never engaged in direct fund raising, nor taken up an offering at our meetings. In 38 years, I have never taken any royalties for any of the over 50 books and manuals I have authored. Everything is ploughed directly into the Mission. Our Christian Liberty Books ministry is a Not-for-Profit ministry and any funds generated is ploughed directly into the Mission.

Our Literature 4 Africa ministry is distributing about 200 tonnes of Bibles, books and Sunday school materials, completely free, to schools, missions, Bible colleges and ministries throughout Africa. Every week a steady stream of pastors, evangelists and teachers come past the Mission to re-supply on World Missionary Press Gospel booklets, Sunday school resources, Bibles, books and New Testaments from our stores. Just in the last month, we distributed one million World Missionary Press Gospel booklets.

Therefore, we must request your urgent prayers and insights as to what we can do to alert those who love, support and value the Mission and varied ministries at Frontline Fellowship, to seek the Lord as to what we can do to increase our support base, market more effectively, our books and audio visual materials and raise the support needed for planned upcoming missions throughout Africa. We also have a number of books ready for the printer, including new publications in French and Afrikaans.

Francis Grim, the Founder of Hospital Christian Fellowship, the first Mission I served under, emphasised the principles of Hudson Taylor: “God's work, done God's way, will not lack God's supply.” and “God’s servant is God's responsibility.” The first Chairman of the Board of Frontline Fellowship, Rev. Doc Watson, challenged me: “You fight God's battles, let Him fight yours!”

So, when we have such financial constraints, we see it as a call from the Lord to search our hearts and souls and to be alert as to what the Lord may be saying to us. Of course, we are continually seeking to improve our faithfulness to Scripture, deepen our devotional lives, focus our intercession and improve our strategies and tactics to be more effective in fulfilling the Great Commission, making disciples of all nations, teaching obedience to all things the Lord has commanded.

Mission to Sudan
We praise God that four Frontline missionaries, John, Abrie, Ben and Daniel, are returning from a successful time of ministering in the remote Nuba Mountains of Sudan. By God's grace, they were able to distribute another shipment of 40,000 Bibles and 50,000 Story of Jesus picture books. They were also able to deliver and distribute: 20,000 note books; 2,000 copies of Faith Under Fire in Sudan; 2,000 copies of Chaplains Handbook; 2,000 copies of Biblical Principles for Africa and 2,000 copies of Greatest Century of Missions books, to schools, churches and Bible colleges throughout the Nuba Mountains region of Sudan. “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” Romans 10:17

Besieged
The Nuba Mountains is an island of Christianity in a sea of Islam. An initial report from one of our missionaries in the Nuba reads: “Antonov bomber planes, MiG aircraft, tanks, scorched earth campaigns from the Islamic Arab North and crippling poverty all describe the dire situation of South Kordofan of Sudan. Despite the aggressive adversity the people of Sudan are facing, there is hope as people are turning to God. His Word is rapidly spreading and the Gospel is taking root in the hearts of thousands of people.

Celebrating the Victory of Christ Over Death
“Last year, we distributed 40,000 Bibles in the Nuba Mountains of Sudan! These resources went to churches, military units and schools in a war zone of Sudan. These are some of the most persecuted people in the world. A rocky dirt road brought our mission team into the Nuba Mountains on Easter weekend. We joined our persecuted brothers and sisters to commemorate the death, burial and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, who for the joy set before Him, endured the Cross, despising the shame. In a land full of death, we celebrated the One who demonstrated His power over death, Jesus Christ. In a land full of suffering, we joyfully considered our future home in Heaven.

Bible Distribution and Bible Teaching
“The next day we split into four separate distribution teams to take the Bibles and books and other curriculum aids to schools throughout the Nuba Mountains.” At the time of writing, John had already ministered in 17 schools, to 5,700 children, delivered 5,404 Bibles and notebooks, 8,131 Story of Jesus booklets and 704 teaching aids and leadership books to 37 schools and 2 county offices. During just this first phase of the mission, our four mission teams distributed approximately 25,000 Bibles in 163 locations. “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things, who proclaims Salvation…” Isaiah 52:7

Mission to Muslims
By God's grace, our team managed to minister in exclusively Muslim areas as well. Because the Bibles offered were in English, even Muslim schools were keen to receive a team and for the teachers and students to receive Bibles. There are many orphans and most of the people in the Nuba Mountains are destitute. We are told that for most of the children, these Bibles, books and notebooks are the very first posessions they have ever owned. In many cases, these books will make up the only books in their home. “A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy habitation. God sets the solitary in families...” Psalm 68:5-6

Literature for Africa
Back in Cape Town, we have received, offloaded and sorted two container shipments, including 2,500 boxes of World Missionary Press Gospel Booklets, each containing 550 Gospel booklets, each 50 pages – all Scripture. That is a total of 1,375,000 Gospel booklets in one shipment. Already most of those have been distributed to enthusiastic missionaries, Evangelists, teachers and pastors who caused traffic jams at our Mission in the days following our receiving the shipment to collect their spiritual ammunition. “So shall My Word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11

Muslim Evangelism
We also hosted experienced SIM Life Challenge Africa Missionary to Muslims, Walter Eric and famous Apologist and Evangelist to Muslims, John Gilchrist, at our Mission HQ as guest speakers for our Muslim Evangelism Workshop. Following on from the Creation seminar with guest speaker Dr. Philip Stott, our IT people have been busy editing the videos of these presentations and getting them uploaded onto our www.FrontlineMissionSA.org website for you to view. Hunter is leading teams on regular outreaches to Muslims every week. “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to Salvation for everyone who believes.” Romans 1:16

Since my South Africa Overland Mission and Mission to Mpumalanga, lecturing at Back to the Bible Mission, I have been involved in a spate of radio and TV interviews, chaplain’s duties at a Military Rally, ministry amongst the Rhodesian community in the Cape Peninsula and Secunda, a number of outreaches on the streets of Mitchells Plain and a series of timely writing projects.
