 Úspěšnost národů
Sociolog katedry politických věd univerzity v Singapuru Robert Woodrerry způsobil mezi akademiky senzaci, když zveřejnil výsledky svého čtrnáctiletého bádání na téma úspěšnosti různých národů. Srovnával životní úroveň, gramotnost obyvatel, politickou svobodu, práva žen, průměrnou délku života, ekonomickou produktivitu, prosperitu obyvatel a vliv misijního působení 19. a 20. století. Ze závěrů Woodberryho práce vyplynulo, že základy demokracie ve světě položili protestanští misionáři. Ovoce významného století působení misií Pro misiology není tento závěr žádnou novinkou. Během první Misijní konference v Edinburgu v r. 1910 byla předložena ohromující zpráva o jedinečnosti působnosti misií. Podobně kniha „Největší století misií“, Peter Hammond, vydaná v r. 2002 popisuje stejnou skutečnost.
