Genocidal Jihad Nuba Reports documents systematic aerial bombardment of Christian villages throughout the Nuba Mountains as part of a genocidal Jihad against the Christian Nubans. Al Jazeera television has broadcast footage of the governor of South Kordofan, the indicted war criminal, Ahmed Harun, addressing Muslim soldiers before being deployed to the Nuba Mountains: "You must hand over the place clean… swept, rubbed, crushed! Don't bring them back alive! We have no space for them!" The broadcast footage showed an army commander, standing near the governor, declaring: "Don't bring them back! Eat them alive!" Targeting Civilians The Khartoum government has blocked humanitarian aid reaching the Nuba Mountains while escalating aerial bombardment of refugees and displaced people in the Nuba. Almost a million Nubans are facing starvation conditions. Eliminating Infidels According to Elizabeth Kendal, an international religious liberty analyst, for the Australian Evangelical Alliance Religious Liberty Commission, Arab militias mobilised by the Sudan Armed Forces have killed tens-of-thousands of Nubans through their ground offensives and aerial bombardment campaign which began in June 2011. Hundreds-of-thousands of Christian Nubans have been displaced as their homes and farms have been bombed, plundered and burned. "By means of massive population displacement, along with systematic destruction of crops and denial of humanitarian aid, the regime is effecting a Final Solution…" the elimination of what it terms "black infidels". Referendums Denied The Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) of 2005, that ended Sudan's civil war, mandated that the three disputed border regions of Abyei, South Kordofan (including the Nuba Mountains) and Blue Nile, would each have the right to a Referendum to determine whether they would be part of Sudan, or join South Sudan, if they seceded. Arab Colonialism Although geographically linked to the North, Abyei, South Kordofan and Blue Nile are culturally and politically aligned with the South. These areas are predominantly non-Arab and non-Muslim. However, the Islamic regime in Khartoum wants the oil reserves in Abyei and South Kordofan and the water of the Blue Nile. Therefore it has done everything in its power to prevent their exercising the right to self-determination. Ethnic Cleansing Even before the secession of South Sudan, 9 July 2011, the Sudan Armed Forces occupied Abyei and began ethnically cleansing it. Escalating Aerial Bombardments Nuba Reports, a network of local Nuba journalists committed to providing credible, up-to-date coverage of the atrocities being committed against the Nuba in South Kordofan, document that aerial bombardments of Christian towns across South Kordofan has escalated dramatically. 108 aerial bombardments were recorded in October alone. Why Are So Many Turning a Blind Eye? The Evangelical Alliance Religious Liberty Commission asks some pointed questions: Hypocrisy Why is the International community so indifferent to this genocide? Is it because the victims are predominately Christians? Cowardice
Why is the media not interested? Is it because the victims are Black and the perpetrators are Arab Muslims? Double Standards "But the West, if it is to claim any morality, must care about African genocides and demand more from Arab Muslims. One major problem is that the US, and much of the West, have de-coupled Darfur, South Kordofan and Blue Nile from Sudan policy. This means engagement with Sudan can proceed without reference to these crises. However, if the West keeps treating Sudan's threatened non-Muslims and non-Arabs as if they do not exist, it will not be long before they actually do not exist!" An Urgent Call for Prayer and Action The shameful indifference of Western governments and media must be exposed. The Church of Jesus Christ must stand up for religious freedom, speak out for our persecuted brethren, and expose the atrocities of the persecutors. We need to pray the Psalms on behalf of our persecuted brethren in the Nuba Mountains. "When justice is done it brings joy to the righteous, but terror to evildoers." Proverbs 21:15 Mobilising Christians It is our earnest prayer that the Lord will use these resources to alert Christians to the real threats, the urgent needs and the unprecedented opportunities before us, to reach Muslims with the life-changing Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
