On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Uganda's Independence, President Yoweri Museveni publically repented of his personal sins and of the sins of the nation: "Father in Heaven, today we stand here as Ugandans, to thank You for Uganda. We are proud that we are Ugandans and Africans. We thank You for all Your goodness to us. I stand here today to close the evil past and especially in the last 50 years of our national leadership history and at the threshold of a new dispensation in the life of this nation. I stand here on my own behalf and on behalf of my predecessors to repent. We ask for Your forgiveness.
Nuba Reports documents systematic aerial bombardment of Christian villages throughout the Nuba Mountains as part of a genocidal Jihad against the Christian Nubans. Al Jazeera television has broadcast footage of the governor of South Kordofan, the indicted war criminal, Ahmed Harun, addressing Muslim soldiers before being deployed to the Nuba Mountains: "You must hand over the place clean… swept, rubbed, crushed! Don't bring them back alive! We have no space for them!" The broadcast footage showed an army commander, standing near the governor, declaring: "Don't bring them back! Eat them alive!"
At about 10pm on 1st October, heavily armed Muslims attacked the off-campus hostels of the Federal Polytechnic State University, College of Health Technology and several private residences of Christians in the Tudun Wada Wuro Patuje area of Adamawa state. The assailants demanded to know the names of each student. Those with Christian names were shot, or stabbed. Their bodies were left in lines outside the student hostels.
