Bibles for Africa We praise God for the successful distribution of almost a thousand Bibles and New Testaments in eight indigenous African languages distributed to pastors, principals, Evangelists and missionaries in Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, across South Africa and in South Sudan. “The Lord gave the Word; great was the company of those who proclaimed it.” Psalm 68:11 Networking To bypass the Lockdown travel restrictions, we contacted Bible Societies throughout Africa to enquire about the availability of supplies and then co-ordinated with trusted pastors, missionaries, Evangelists, colleges and schools with regard to their needs, distribution strategy and language preferences. Then in accordance with designated funds made available by special projects sponsors, we were able to place orders for the required Bibles in indigenous African languages with six different Bible Societies. “So, then Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” Romans 10:17 Designated Gifts Allocating the available funds to the costs of the various Bible translations and the needs of the ministries in each country, we were able to connect each pastor, principal, or Evangelist responsible for collecting the Bibles from their local Bible Society distribution centre, with other leaders in ministry with whom they must share the Bibles for free distribution to those who most need, would most appreciate, read, study, apply and share with Word of God, in their own language. “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes…” Romans 1:16 Logistical Challenges By God’s grace, despite the logistical complications, we have now begun receiving enthusiastic reports from remote schools, colleges, churches, missionaries, pastors and Evangelists throughout South Africa, Mozambique, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Zambia and South Sudan, who have collectively taken delivery of 36 boxes of Bibles with 224 New Testaments in Chichewa and 708 full Bibles in Afrikaans, Bemba, Chichewa, Moru, Sesotho, Shona, Xhosa and Zulu. So far, 932 Bibles and New Testaments in indigenous African languages have been paid for, released and received by our distributors in these six countries in the last month. “For the Word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 Overcoming Obstacles This has been particularly encouraging that even in this time of Lockdown restrictions on travel, we have found ways to have Bibles delivered to those who most need them. We praise God that the Gospel is the power of God for the Salvation of all who believe, that Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. That the Word of God will never return void, but will accomplish everything that the Lord has sent it out to accomplish. “So shall My Word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11 The Desperate Urgent Need for More Bibles for Africa According to Operation World, there are still over 100 million church-goers in Africa, who do not yet have a copy of the Word of God in their own language. If you are able to donate funds for more Bibles in indigenous languages for Africa, please contact [email protected], or see donation details and links at the end of this update. You can view our video, Bibles for Africa, here. Literature4Africa Film You can view a new Frontline video: Literature4Africa on our www.FrontlineMissionSA.org website. Starting hours before sunrise, in pitch dark, Frontline Mission workers began to offload a 20-foot, 17-tonne container of Bibles and books from Eagles Nest ministries. Shortly after sunrise, a second 40-foot container arrived from World Missionary Press. Christopher filmed the activity and has completed a fast-paced, visual insight into the ministry of Literature4Africa, focussing on just that one extraordinary day. “Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in Psalms and Hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” Colossians 3:16 French Film on Nuba Mountains Mission Now Available By God’s grace, a French translation of our Missions to the Nuba Mountains of Sudan film is now available online. Lenora, her sister, Deborah and Christopher are completing a German translation of this film which will also be available soon. “Cush will submit to God.” Psalm 68:31 Missions in the Mall In South Africa, Monday, 10 August is a public holiday. Every year, for the last 25 years, our Mission has been organising outreaches in shopping malls on National Women’s Day. We set up display boards, pull up banners and literature tables and conduct Social Justice questionnaires, where we take individuals through Way of the Master, Ten Commandments-based questions and lead them into Evangelism Explosion questions, such as: “If God was to ask you why He should let you into His Heaven, what would you say?”’; “If God was to judge you on the basis of His Ten Commandments, would you be innocent, or guilty?”; “If you were to die today, where would you go?” We offer those who complete this questionnaire the choice of a free New Testament, book, or DVD. “The Law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul…” Psalm 19:7 Cape Town for Christ On numerous occasions, we also have the opportunity to pray with receptive individuals after good counselling conversations in the Malls. This year we have four shopping Malls that have given us permission to set up our contact tables and engage with shoppers in the Mall. We will also be conducting mass literature distributions at major traffic intersections and in some parks. Please pray for our volunteers and those who we seek to reach. “Does not wisdom cry out and understanding lift up her voice? She takes her stand on the top of the high hill, beside the way, where the paths meet. She cries out by the gates, at the entry of the city, at the entrance of the doors.” Proverbs 8:1-3 The Christian Liberation of Women You can view one of the leaflets I produced for National Women’s Day: The Christian Liberation of Women. This can also be viewed as a PowerPoint, click here, or as a video, click here. You can also listen to the audio of this presentation on our Sermon Audio page, click here. If you want to download the leaflet for printing and sharing, click here. “…remember the Lord, Who is great and awesome and fight for… your daughters, your wives and your homes…” Nehemiah 4:14 The Harvest is Large – The Workers are Few Please continue to pray for more missionary volunteers, intercessors and supporters to enable us to respond to the many desperate requests for help and invitations for strategic ministry throughout Africa. Bad times are good for spiritual work. Adversity is not our enemy. Apathy is. The needs are desperate and the situation is urgent. Praise God that the fields are ripe for harvest. “…The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:37-38 Africa for Christ We have numerous tracts, booklets, books and translations ready for printing, awaiting funds. We also need an additional 4-Wheel Drive vehicle for missions planned to traverse Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, Sudan, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Botswana later this year when borders are opened again. “Sing to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim the Good News of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.” 1 Chronicles 16:23-24 Thank You Thank you very much for all your prayers, encouragement and support, without which none of our ministries would be possible. May God continue to be your joy and strength. Yours for the fulfilment of the Great Commission Dr. Peter Hammond Frontline Fellowship P.O.
