People are dying of starvation in a man-made famine. Vast herds of cattle and wildlife have been slaughtered. Crops and stores burned. Many people beaten or murdered. Thousands of productive farms have been looted by government organised mobs.

THOUSANDS ARRESTED
Over 1400 MDC election observers and supporters have been arrested in a massive nationwide clamp down, following ZANU-PF’s announcement that they had won the Presidential "elections." 15% PREVENTED FROM VOTING Violence and widespread irregularities were reported throughout Zimbabwe during the 9th – 11th March elections. As many as 15%, (about ½ million) of all those who attempted to vote were turned away from polling stations by ZANU-PF officials, "war veterans" or Youth Brigade militia and prevented from voting. There are only about 20,000 British citizens now living in Zimbabwe out of what was once approaching 300,000. We are very concerned for those who are economically stranded there with no funds to jump on a flight to the United Kingdom.
We remain especially concerned for those who supported the U.K. during the Second World War and who are now in their late 70's and 80's, many of whom were encouraged to settle in Rhodesia by the British Government in 1945. A number of elderly people are now in old age homes, institutions which are desperately struggling to cope financially. The plight of these good people is not improving. In Mozambique and Angola. Marxist preference has been to burn down the churches. In Zimbabwe the aim is to hijack the pulpits.
An official document from the ruling ZANU party calls for ‘revolutionary theology as an integral part of President Robert Mugabe’s ongoing drive to create a “new order'. In the new ZANU (PF) publication “SOCIETY AND THE CHURCH”, the Christians are urged to turn to “Marxism for a discovery of their true vision and true vocation”. It states that “those sections of the church that are fearful of Marxism are fearful of people”. TORTURE AND MURDER IN ZIMBABWE AS A PRAYER RALLY IS ATTACKED
On Sunday, 11 March 2007 Mugabe's ZANU PF government attacked people who had gathered for a prayer meeting in Harare. Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) leader Morgan Tsvangirai was tortured. Credible sources claimed that police had taken turns to lift Tsvangirai and smash him against a wall. Tsvangirai had lost consciousness three times but they continued to assault him. Despite massive intimidation, widespread violence and state terrorism, Zimbabweans have turned out for the Presidential elections in record numbers – demonstrating overwhelming opposition to the ruling party.
MILITARY MOBILISED The ZANU-PF government of President Robert Mugabe have placed their 70 000 man armed forces on high alert and cancelled all leave. Some military units have also been withdrawn from the Democratic Republic of Congo, where Mugabe’s forces have been helping to prop up fellow Marxist Kabila since 1998. The African Defence Journal reports that an unprecedented two-thirds of the Army has been deployed. Even the mechanised battalion with 3 000 troops, tanks, armoured vehicles and mobile rocket units have left their barracks. Developments in Zimbabwe had at last reached the Western media, when they were almost completely swamped by news of the financial collapse brought about by the greed of many Western bankers and financiers. At the time of writing the financial panic overshadows all other news. Yet disaster has befallen Zimbabwe.
