Zambia for Jesus - May 2013
The Christian Nation
Zambia is officially a Christian Nation. There are approximately 11.5 million Christians, which means that 86.95 % of Zambians would at least claim to be Christian. Zambia shares her border with 8 other Countries and is in a very strategic place to be a missionary sending country. These statistics seem positive, yet instead of being a nation primarily focussed on being a blessing to Africa, Zambia has more missionaries going into the country than going out. This seems strange for a nation which has so many Christians.
During our Mission to Zambia, we scratched below the surface of much of what is called "Christianity" in Zambia. We found warm hearted, devoted Christians, as well as many lukewarm church members. As we ran courses in different areas of Zambia it became apparent why the statistics of Zambian Christianity are so puzzling.
