Literature for Africa We praise God for another 17 tonne, 20-foot container shipment of Bibles, books and Sunday school materials. The pallets of Bibles were immediately ear-marked for our Livingstone 200 outreaches in Zambia and Zimbabwe. These have already been prepositioned for our Mission teams to distribute to churches, mission bases, schools and colleges in these central African countries where Dr. David Livingstone first pioneered the Gospel in the 19th century. Mission to Sudan
Despite dangers of ambush, travelling through bandit territory, instability and many frustrating mechanical breakdowns, including one occasion when they came under fire, our Missionaries succeeded in ministering throughout Eastern Equatoria, Central Equatoria, Western Equatoria, Lakes and Bahr el Ghazal. In two months they conducted 150 meetings in South Sudan, including Great Commission Seminars, Biblical Worldview Seminars, Evangelism Workshops and Discipleship Seminars. They ministered in five military bases and amongst soldiers deployed on the Northern border of South Sudan. The team reported that they had the privilege of seeing the abundant fruit of Chaplains who were first trained by Frontline Fellowship in the middle of the war in 1996. These men are still making a great impact for the Kingdom of God, planting churches and impacting military units for Christ. Mission to Uganda Our Africa Overland Mission team have now completed five months, ministering throughout Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya and South Sudan. They have already travelled over 20,000 km and conducted over 350 meetings, services, outreaches and seminars. Please pray for their ministry in the central African country of Uganda. Missions in the Mall 55 volunteers helped us distribute 3,400 tracts, leaflets and Gospel booklets, and 1,300 balloons with Scripture messages in 4 different shopping malls. By God's grace we were able to counsel 24 people through Way of the Master and Evangelism Explosion. To each of these people, we gave a free copy of The Biggest Question DVD. Those who did not have a Bible were provided with a free New Testament. This was the 18th year that we have conducted these outreaches in shopping centres. Shopping Malls are the modern day market places and gateways to the city. Many people seem to spend a large part of their leisure time at malls. With advertising that often promotes anti-family values and many anti-family films at cinemas, malls are battlefields in the world war of worldviews. Making a stand at the shopping malls are part of our strategy to inform and involve Christians in being salt and light in society. "Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice? On the heights along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand; beside the gates leading into the city, at the entrances, she cries aloud." Proverbs 1:20-21 The Law of the Lord is Perfect Converting the Soul Most people described themselves as "a good person!" But after we had gone through the Ten Commandments, they would admit that they had not obeyed God's Law and if they were to be judged by the Ten Commandments, they would be found Guilty! When asked: If you were to die today, do you know where you would go? Several admitted openly: "hell!" The Law is the schoolmaster that leads us to Christ so that we can be justified by Faith (Galatians 3:24). Evolution Vs. God Our Mission HQ in Cape Town was packed to overflowing for the Reformation Society screening of the new Way of the Master, Evolution Vs. God film. If you have not had the opportunity of viewing this compelling expose of the total absence of scientific evidence for Evolution, you can view it, or download it, click here. If you are in Africa, you can order copies of the Evolution Vs. God from [email protected] or visit www.livingwatersafrica.co.za. Evolution Does Not Have a Leg to Stand On What Ray Comfort so dramatically proves in this, often hilarious, film I have seen first hand in Cape Town. We have hosted Creation Scientists, Dwayne Gish, Dr. Philip Stott and Dr. Angela Stott. Despite numerous attempts over the last two decades, we have not been able to find any evolutionist willing to debate a Creation scientist. When we organised public lectures for Dr. Philip Stott in the four main universities in the Cape, I saw for myself, how the evolutionary professors, heads of departments, with books in hand, were unable to contradict, or disprove, any of the facts presented by Philip Stott. Before hostile audiences, I saw him, without notes, quoting chapter and verse out of their own textbooks, and from the most prominent evolutionists in history, demolishing evolution. The professors were left frustrated and speechless, having seen their best arguments dismantled by facts and logic. No wonder no evolutionist is willing to debate Creation scientists! Like the snake in the garden, they don't have a leg to stand on. Mission to Mpumalanga Next week I head off to Mpumalanga to present a week of lectures at Back to the Bible Training College. 124 pastors-in-training from 18 countries around Africa are enrolled at BBTC. We will be conducting a Great Commission Seminar for them on campus. We will then be conducting a Biblical Worldview Seminar in Nelspruit, followed by a week-long Muslim Evangelism Training Workshop at the Africa School of Missions. Zimbabwe for Christ The last month has been tumultuous in neighbouring Zimbabwe as the Marxist dictator Robert Mugabe managed to defraud the people again with another sham of an election. In Fraud, Failure and Farce in Zimbabwe, I document the role of Red China and blood diamonds in continuing to oppress the longsuffering people of Zimbabwe. "They promised them freedom while they themselves are slaves of depravity." 2 Peter 2:19 Serving the Suffering Frontline Fellowship has been ministering in Zimbabwe since 1982. We have been conducting Evangelistic outreaches, literature Evangelism, personal Evangelism, film Evangelism, Leadership Training courses, ministering to pastors, pensioners, prisoners and patients. Delivering Boxes with Love, agricultural tools and seed, and most importantly, encouraging these people who have been so devastated by treachery and corruption. Frontline Fellowship continues to conduct multiple Mission outreaches into Zimbabwe. For the safety of our workers, and those whom we serve, we cannot say much about our ministry inside the country, but please continue to pray for our field workers, and the evangelists, pastors and teachers whom they are serving and equipping. "Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brothers, you did it to Me." Matthew 25:40 Persecution Intensifies in Sudan Recently expelled Missionary friends of ours gave a Report Back at Frontline Fellowship Mission HQ. They reported that thousands of expatriates have been deported, or forced to leave Sudan, since September last year. Hundreds-of-thousands of Black Sudanese in the North had been stripped of their citizenship and ordered to migrate South, across the border into the newly Independent South Sudan. Independent schools have been targeted for Islamisation. Schools that have failed to strictly segregate boys and girls and provide Islamic studies, have been closed down. National Intelligence Security Sudan agents have burst into the homes of foreigners, confiscating their laptops, i-pads, cell phones, cameras, diaries and many books and personal items, to identify indigenous believers. Churches and Bible colleges had been closed down and on some occasions bulldozed. Islam Has Nothing to Offer A prominent Islamic leader has declared that missionaries are a "massive problem" in Sudan and that hundreds of Muslims have converted to Christianity in Khartoum recently. Numerous individuals in Northern Sudan have expressed the fear that the ruthless crackdown on dissent, and deportation of foreigners from Sudan, could be to remove all witnesses to a planned massacre of Christians in Sudan. Despite being deprived of so many of their leaders, Christians in Sudan are enthusiastic and positive, declaring that Islam is failing. This is an act of desperation by a failed religion which has nothing to offer its adherents, except fear and intimidation. "…Brethren, pray for us, that the Word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one." 2 Thessalonians 3:1-3 Nuba Christians Under Fire Again Christians in the Nuba Mountains are suffering a systematic targeting through arrests, abuse, imprisonment, torture and the confiscation of their private property. Many Nuba villages have been bombed by the Sudan Air Force. Imams and sheiks have mobilised Muslims at mosques to attack Bible schools, church compounds and Christian libraries. "We will never forgive Christians for not being Muslim!" was broadcast over the loudspeakers from minarets in Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan. "Remember the prisoners as if chained with them - those who are mistreated - since you yourselves are in the Body also." Hebrews 13:3 Christians Under Fire in Nigeria Christians in Northern Nigeria continue to face threats and frequent violent attacks by Islamic Jihadists. Churches have been bombed, schools attacked and Christians ordered to renounce Christ under threat of death. Incredibly, numerous petitions and efforts in Congress have still not succeeded in pressurising the US State Department to designate the Boko Haram Jihadists as a Foreign Terrorist Organisation (FTO). The president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), representing some 80 million Christians, has questioned how serious America can be in the war against terrorism, when Boko Haram have claimed responsibility for hundreds of terror attacks on churches and schools, yet are not even listed as a terrorist organisation by the USA. "Their feet are swift to shed blood; destruction and misery are in their ways; and the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes." Romans 3:15-18 Churches Under Attack in Egypt John Mark, who wrote the Gospel of Mark, planted the first Church in Alexandria, Egypt, in the first century. The Christians in Egypt have survived 1,400 years of Islamic persecution. Since the explosion of the so-called Arab Spring, attacks on churches in Egypt have multiplied exponentially. Almost daily we are learning of more churches bombed and burned by Muslim mobs in Egypt. Persecuted Christians in Egypt express shock at Western governments and Christian churches that are generally so silent about this rising tsunami of Islamic hatred and violence against Christians, in what was the birthplace of the Christian Church. Generally speaking, not only have the secular media failed to report on this horrific persecution of Christians in the Middle East, but so too have the Christian media. "Your ignorance and indifference is killing our people!" declared one bishop. "And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it, or if one member is honoured, all the members rejoice with it. Now you are the Body of Christ, and members individually." 1 Corinthians 12:26-27 Violent Backlash We are living in tumultuous times and the threats and attacks on Christians in Africa are intensifying. To a large extent this is a reaction to the phenomenal growth of the Church in Africa. Nigeria was once a Muslim country, ruled by Muslim dictators, a member of Islamic Organisation of Countries (IOC). Now Christians are the majority in Nigeria and Muslims are lashing out in the only way they know how: violently. Christianity is Advancing in Africa South Sudan is now a free and independent country. The largest country in Africa, Sudan, has lost one third of their territory, who are no longer under the Islamic yoke of Shari'a law. Islam may be gaining ground in North America and Europe, but it is actually losing ground in Africa. This is why there is so much intense persecution directed against Christians in Africa. These are the frontlines of the battle for Faith and freedom. In the world war of worldviews and the clash of civilisations, the Church is advancing in Africa, and Islam is fighting a vicious rear-guard action as they lose ground in Africa. An Urgent Call for Prayer and Action At this critical time, when we are deluged with opportunities, desperate needs, urgent requests and strategic invitations for ministry, our Mission is being crippled for lack of finances. Many worthy priority projects have been delayed, or indefinitely postponed, until funds allow. Windows of opportunity are being missed, only through lack of resources to respond. Please pray for us that those who share the vision of our Mission would help provide sufficient resources for us to respond to the needs of the hour, strengthening Christians under fire and empowering them with the resources they need in order to advance the Kingdom of God. Libraries for Pastors It has always been our goal to give at least one book to each participant of our Leadership Training programmes. Whether the Discipleship Training Seminars, Evangelism Workshops, Biblical Worldview Seminars, Great Commission Seminars and lectures at Bible colleges, we are needing to reprint The Power of Prayer Handbook, Practical Discipleship, Biblical Principles for Africa, Biblical Worldview Manual and Great Commission Manual. We have completely run out of all of these titles. There is a tremendous hunger for literature and a great need for quality leadership training and discipleship materials. "So shall My Word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please; and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."
