Rozanne Visagie has Finished her Race

Rozanne Visagie, who has been courageously battling cancer and chemo for 12 years now, passed away in hospital yesterday, Sunday, 2nd October. Rozanne is the daughter of President PW Botha, the last real Christian South African President of integrity.

Picture
The President's Daughter
The first time I heard of Rozanne, she was being interviewed and asked by some newspaper reporter what it was like “living in the shadow of her father, President PW Botha?”  Rosanne's answer was: "I do not live in his shadow, I live in his light!" I was impressed by her attitude. The First Daughter of the Republic of South Africa, as some in the media referred to her, was quite a character. She had volunteered for military service, subjecting herself to all the rigours and discipline of training in the Women's College, in George. She was an accomplished singer and was also involved in film production.

An Appointment with the First Daughter
Although I was just a missionary, I felt prompted to contact her and ask for an appointment. Having just returned from a mission to Mozambique, I was deeply concerned about the recent Nkomati Accord and that South Africa was abandoning the RENAMO resistance movement in favour of this new relationship with the communist Frelimo government.

Picture
Obviously the president would not be interested in meeting with a young 25 year old missionary, but if I could communicate some of my research to his daughter, she would surely have his ear. Rozanne was obviously well informed and well read. She shared my anti-Communist convictions and when the bugle sounded to announce the arrival of the president to Groote Schuur Estate, Rozanne declared “Papa needs to hear this!” She led me at a brisk pace down the hallway to meet the president in the foyer.

President PW Botha
It was quite intimidating for me to meet the man who had been Minister of Defence when I had served in the infantry, who was Prime Minister and now the President. However, he was gracious and after I'd given a brief report on the situation in Mozambique, he commented “Pik should have told me that!" Pik Botha was the Minister of Foreign Affairs (who turned out to be a real traitor, joining the ANC after the handover in 1994). The President showed me his study which was decorated with framed hostile cartoons trying to make fun of him.

Picture
They had obviously failed to discourage the President. The media under-estimated his sense of humour and resilience. Throughout her life here on earth, the president's daughter, Rozanne, evidenced the same steadfast resilience and strength of character as her famous father, with warm resolute Christian conviction and a healthy love of life and sense of humour.

Picture
Combating Rhino Poaching
Over the years, Rozanne and I co-operated in a number of causes, including the Let Me Be Your Voice campaign against the poaching of Rhinos, Life Chains, evangelistic outreaches, working for Reformation and praying for Revival. Rozanne and her daughter Shanna sang at our Reformation Day services at the Huguenot monument in Franschhoek and supported numerous of our initiatives, as we supported her initiatives and causes. Rozanne was tireless in enthusiastic prayer and praise and action. She often requested more Bibles, evangelistic booklets and Christian flags from our mission. We could always depend on her energetic perseverance. Rozanne was always a woman on a mission.

Battling Cancer and Chemo
Rozanne’s battles with cancer and chemo often paralleled those of my wife, Lenora. We have been friends with Rozanne and her family for over three decades. In 2019 we helped publish her husband Schalk’s book Under Fire in South Africa https://www.christianlibertybooks.co.za/item/under_fire_in_south_africa

Picture
Her daughter, Shanna, completed our Great Commission Course in 2018 and has been a missionary to Ukraine since.

Despite much pain, Rozanne remained cheerful, thankful, prayerful and full of praise and hope for the future.

Her Cancer Diaries, which she shared with friends and on social media, were an inspiration and encouragement to many.

Rozanne can now declare: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the Faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7

Please Pray for the Visagie Family
“For this reason I bow on my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for whom the whole family in Heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height – to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to His power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:14-21

A most interesting and heart-rending article.
My aunt, Anne Nash of Jansenville , E. Cape was deputy minister of foreign affairs and she served with Pik Botha. She also crossed the floor to become an ANC member. I asked her why she did this as on helping her writing her speeches I found her to be completely against the ANC manifesto. She replied that she needed to serve the people of South Africa and could not be any use if she were sidelined. I have a suspicion that Pik had the same philosophy.
Does that make them traitors? I think not although the ANC have not since bathed themselves in glory.

"South Africa was abandoning the RENAMO resistance movement in favour of this new relationship with the communist Frelimo government"

This article gave first hand proof positive that Pik Botha was behind this move ie handing Mozambique over to the marxists by stopping the people's resistance to an unelected communist government foisted upon them by Portugal with the acquiescence of every nation on earth (UN).

This is evidence that Pik Botha's only so-called philosophy was to ensure a christian nation was replaced permanently with a marxist dictatorship, as the willing puppet of the international banker/aristocrat Cryptocracy. Only the devil's little helpers would do this.

We do have multiple reasons for asserting that Pik Botha was a traitor. He was part of the gang that ousted President PW Botha in 1989. He worked against South Africa's interests while Minister of foreign affairs and was involved in secret negotiations with the ANC against the express instructions of the president.

Pik Botha was also a traitor to Rhodesia, as was Vorster.

Thank you for sharing Rozanne's story and how your interests were so intertwined in such a good way. I knew nothing of this until now. She lived such an authentic life, true to her principles and convictions. A great example to us all. RIP and God's blessings upon Rozanne and her family.

You lost me here... "She had volunteered for military service" (read to proudly fight 'the Swart gevaar' that numerous, gullible, white apartheid apologists supremacists were brainwashed to believe, of course. In fact some still believe it to date).... "the last real Christian South African President of integrity..."

Idolising a man who :
1.Refused to acknowledge dignity of black SAfrican compatriots.
2.Refused to respect humanity of black SAfrican compatriots.
3.Imposed greater security measures against anti-aparheid activists, and state of emergencies. Those years (under his reign) were the most brutal for black SAfricans (yes, including born-again black Christians), by far.
4.A man who refused to apologise for apartheid, the hurts caused, and lives it destroyed. He was defiant to his death.

This same man (like many white 'Christians' back then) happily embraced Mark 12 v 30, yet detested v31 " You shall love your neighbor as yourself". The same applies for 1 John 4 v 20.. "Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. "

Apartheid was officially declared a crime against... Humanity.Unlike you,a beneficiary, I KNOW that evil apartheid system. It was my DAILY lived experience, for first 32years of my existence.I DON'T wish it on my worst enemy!

Calling Pik Botha a traitor, (for crossing to ANC), indirectly, endorses the following :
1.You agree that apartheid was correct.
2.You agree that Mandela (including all anti-aparheid activists) should've remained in prison.
3.Restoring the dignity of black SAfricans, by granting their political freedom, for one, was wrong (read FW sold out).

You could've simply mentioned, in the tribute, that Rozanne was PW Botha's youngest daughter.Yet here you are, having the gall to, proudly, glorify a man who entrenched legislated apartheid (a divisive, draconian, evil, destructive, inhumane, system in existence for, at least, 45 years) on social media, for the universe to behold. As a missionary, trained at Cape Town Baptist Seminary, representing Frontline Fellowship (a Christian missionary organization), prominently featuring on Radio Tygerberg, et al, you ought to hang your head in shame Peter... 🥺😭.This is a perfect example of the type of 'christianity' that polarises us...particularly given SAfrica's history.

May her soul RIP

Rozanne seems to have lived her life for the service of our country, and to help people in general. Knowing that she will die soon would definitely be a hard pill. I can't even imagine that. I earnestly want to believe she lived her best and fulfilled life. RIP to her.

"And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
