The Threat to Our Children

Who is raising your child? Has the TV become your family altar and the electronic baby sitter? Do you recognise the threat that the exploitative pornography industry poses to your child? Is Outcomes Based Education using your child as playdough in their social engineering experiments?

In households with television, the average child sees between 15 000 to 30 000 hours of television before leaving school (Nielsen Media Research). By the time he or she leaves school the average child will have seen up to 360 000 murders and up to 480 000 sexual acts or references to sex depicted on TV (US News and World Report and Media Research Centre). During his high school years the average student listens to over 10 000 hours of music – much of it filled with sensual, immoral and occultic lyrics (Media Wise Family).
By the time the average child graduates he or she will have spent 15 000 hours at school (versus a potential 700 hours in Sunday School). What values and worldview will he or she have learnt during that time?
The theory of Evolution is often propagated by films and in school textbooks. Evolution is an attempt to retroactively abort God. Evolution destroys all meaning, purpose, direction, justice and hope in life: "You come from nothing, you are going nowhere, life is meaningless!"
Secular Humanist education attempts to eradicate God from the classroom and from the minds of the next generation. By eliminating the Bible as the basis for all knowledge, Humanists remove the very foundation of truth. They ignore the only objective standard by which reality can be evaluated.
"See to it that no-one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ." Colossians 2:8
"Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, ‘But we knew nothing about this,’ does not He who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not He who guards your life know it? Will not He repay each one according to what he has done?" Proverbs 24:11-12
Make a Difference!Our Lord taught us in Luke 18:1 that we "should always pray and not give up". In the parable of the persistent widow, Jesus taught us that even an unjust judge will give in and do what is right in response to persistent prayer and pressure.
"Who will rise up for Me against the wicked? Who will take a stand for Me against the evildoers?" Psalm 94:16

Salt and Light
Since 1991 Africa Christian Action has been mobilising and equipping Christians to make a positive difference in our society.
†  ACA organised the first anti-pornography and pro-life demonstrations in S.A.
† ACA published the first South African booklet against pornography – Finding Freedom From the Pornography Plague (over 10 000 copies of 2 editions sold out).
† ACA initiated the first nation wide campaign against pornography in South Africa (which has succeeded in persuading over 9 000 stores to no longer stock pornography.)
†  ACA has organised the Life Chains every year since 1992.
†  In 1995, ACA produced the first pro-life book to be published in S.A. Fight for Life – a pro-life handbook for Southern Africa.
† Since 1999, ACA has initiated and co-ordinated Sanctity Life Sunday, the National Day of Repentance and the Parliamentary Imprecatory Prayer Proclamation against abortion.
