MISSIONS to NIGERIA, SOUTH AFRICA and ZAMBIA "Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice? On the heights along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand; beside the gates leading into the city, at the entrances she cries aloud." Proverbs 1:20-21 Missions in the Mall Frontline Fellowship missionaries and staff in Cape Town have taken part in a series of outreaches in five different shopping malls in and around Cape Town. On 9 August, 77 volunteers helped us distribute 9,500 Gospel tracts and leaflets and 2,230 balloons with Scripture and pro-family messages on them. By God's grace, during their 12 hours Mission to the malls, we were able to counsel over 56 people and explain to them the way of Salvation. Each one who was counselled through Way of the Master and Evangelism Explosion received Todd Friel and Kirk Cameron's DVD - The Biggest Question. This is the 17th year in a row that we have organised these Missions in the Mall.
On Saturday, 25 August, we conducted a six hour outreach in another shopping centre, in a mostly Muslim area. 15 Volunteers helped us distribute up to 2,000 leaflets. A number of balloons with Scripture messages were also distributed to children. We had the privilege of explaining the way of Salvation to 31 shoppers. Each of these were also given a copy of The Biggest Question DVD. Several of the people wanted us to pray with them and we had the joy of seeing a number come under serious conviction of sin and surrender their lives to Christ. STOP the Traffick! As part of our ongoing campaign against human trafficking, Taryn wrote two new leaflets: STOP the Traffick and Fight the New Drug. These and other of our tracts can be downloaded from www.christianaction.org.za. We also made three new balloon designs this year with anti-trafficking messages, including the Scriptures: "Whom the Son sets free is free indeed." John 8:36 and "You will know the Truth and the Truth will set you free." John 8:33. For two weeks in a row at the Reformation Society, our boardroom was tightly packed for screening of the anti-trafficking documentary by Exodus Cry: Nefarious: Merchant of Souls. "Who will rise up for Me against the wicked? Who will take a stand for Me against evildoers?" Psalm 94:16 Mission to Nigeria By God's grace, our missionary, Michael, completed a successful Mission to Nigeria. The team was warmly welcomed and escorted in a four-car convoy with police and military vehicles. Three soldiers and four policemen were detailed to provide security throughout the Mission. Churches in Nigeria have been facing a wave of car bomb and terror attacks by the Islamic Jihadists Boko Haram. Liberty to the Captives Michael and David visited twelve different projects and ministered on eleven different occasions, including at a weekend Liberty to the Captives Revival Crusade. The first meeting lasted for 6 hours. They were then privileged to take part in a baptism service of 60 new believers. Resources for Reformation Discipleship Training was presented to pastors and large quantities of our books were distributed to key pastors, teachers and Evangelists in Nigeria. This included: Practical Discipleship, The Ten Commandments, Discipleship Training Manual, Slavery, Terrorism and Islam, Security and Survival in Unstable Times, The Christian at War, and libraries of audio-visual resources, including the DVDs: What if Jesus Had Never Been Born?, Islam Rising, A Call for Discernment, Amazing Grace - A History and Theology of Calvinism, Sudan the Hidden Holocaust, Radical Islam, Basic Christian Training boxset, and numerous Way of the Master DVDs. Audio CDs and MP3 boxsets delivered included: Muslim Evangelism Workshop, Answering Skeptics, Soldiers for Christ and Revival. These resources are available from: Christian Liberty Books: Tel: 021-689-7478, email: [email protected], website: www.christianlibertybooks.co.za. Mission to Zambia Please continue to pray for Michael and Tian as they are involved in an overland Mission. They have already distributed a tonne of valuable Gospel literature, audio-visual materials, Bibles and books. They have been conducting Discipleship Training Seminars and Great Commission Seminars in rural areas. Most nights they have been conducting film Evangelism, using the Jesus film. Hundreds have been attending these film screenings, including many that have had to be held outdoors. At one village, Chikalawa, 300 people came the first night and 600 on the second night. 50 people were counselled to Salvation on those occasions. After conducting Great Commission Seminar lectures, our missionaries took pastors and evangelists into the market places to put the principles into practice in personal one-on-one Evangelism. Many had the joy of leading people to Christ. Mission to KwaZulu When you receive this I will be in KwaZulu, ministering with our good friends at KwaSizabantu Mission.
