The Cats and the Castle Update Thank you all very much for your prayers! We have found a home for our kitty Juliette and are still looking for a home for Romeo. We also discovered after our last inspection that our AC unit had given up the ghost sometime since we last used it in the summer. Thankfully we have a very competent realtor who is helping us work out the logistics of replacement so that the next owner of the Castle will be blessed with a brand new unit. We also as of Monday night are under contract again! Praise God! Eyes on the Prize
We are so excited to enter into the work that God has set before us in South Africa. As we’ve mentioned before Cape Town is made up of 3.7 Million people from very diverse cultural and religious backgrounds. It is a melting pot of people groups, which makes it a strategic place to work in order to reach the nations coming on a temporary basis to study or those who have immigrating there. The Cape draws a diverse population from Islamic, Hindu, African Animistic groups, Christian, Catholic, Atheists, and other religious backgrounds. The opportunities are vast, and the need is great. We believe that God is calling us to work fervently in the harvest to reach the lost, and to equip leaders to join the glorious cause of reaching the nations for Christ. A Story from the Mosque A couple weeks ago I (Hunter) went out evangelizing at a local Mosque with some Christian brothers. I met a group of Muslim men standing around with the Gospel of John in their hands. I could only assume that my friend Matthew (a passionate evangelist) had just handed them the Gospel. When I approached them, they welcomed me with big smiles and a warm greeting. I told them that we were Christians and we were getting into conversations with Muslims about who Jesus is. I had the chance to share the Gospel with them and they gladly and respectfully listened as I shared. They said that they had just landed in the US four days ago (from a closed access Muslim country *not named here*). They told me that they wanted to visit a church! I was somewhat dumbfounded when I heard them say this, but they explained that in their home country healthy dialogue like this never took place between different religious groups. They wanted to learn more about Christianity and meet more Christians while they are studying here for the semester. By God’s grace he brought these men across our paths and we were able to connect them with a Christian international student ministry on campus. Unfortunately Muslims and Christians have had a tumultuous history, but it in incredible to see how far Islamic and Christian interaction has come over the last 14 centuries contact. From the conquests of Mohammad, to the Crusades, to globalization in recent years, God has now opened up wide doors for the Gospel to be preached in the Muslim world. Many Muslims today are migrating to westernized urban center to live or to come for university and we feel a particular burden to invest our lives in reaching these Muslims for Christ. Support Progress Report If want to be a part of investing in the Kingdom as we seek to win Muslims to Christ and equip the church to enter the harvest in Muslim communities, would you consider joining our monthly support team? So far we’ve raised 28% of our moving costs, and 18% of our monthly support. We have seen God’s faithful hand of provision, but still have a ways to go. Some of you have asked for a break down of our financial progress and needs. So here they are as listed below: Moving costs:
