![]() On May 1st, Hunter, along with a team of three other missionaries, left for a month-long mission trip to Sudan. By God’s grace, they distributed 32,000 Bibles to 130 local schools. Many of the people told us that they had been praying for years for Bibles and now they had their very own Bible! Among those who eagerly accepted the Bibles were some Muslim schools, due to their eagerness to learn English (Arabic is the primary language spoken in the areas where the team ministered). Please join us in prayer that the Lord would transform the hearts and lives of all who received His Word! ![]() CONTAINER The morning after Hunter and the team departed on their venture, the long anticipated arrival of our container arrived! With only an hour’s notice, we hustled and our family rallied to make the unloading process a smooth one. Both my brother’s girlfriends jumped in to lighten the load as well! They reminded me of how grateful I am to have the family I’ve been blessed with. It was emotionally surreal to fathom just how far this container had to go in order to arrive on our doorstep. I had many moments of praise, thanking God for working all the details together in such a beautiful and intricate way! To see the precious earthly items we’ve only associated with Arizona in our new Cape Town home has been humbling and amazing. All the boxes have been unpacked and our home truly feels like home again. Thank you for all your prayers and support through this unique journey! We could not have done this without you! ![]() PROMOTION We have some exciting news to share from the home front as well! Jeremy is being promoted to big brother for the first time! We are joyfully anticipating our baby’s arrival on November 3rd. God’s timing is always perfect and we are thankful to have made this happy discovery AFTER our long and busy preparation for our international move. We know it will be an adjustment but we are thrilled to be adding another precious member to our growing family. We know Jeremy is very ready for this new adventure of becoming a brother. ![]() FROM HUNTER’S DESK It was surreal walking in places littered with fox holes and bomb shelters knowing that a little over a year ago bombs could have been dropped on the very place I was standing. The thousands of children we shared the Gospel with in schools had been through aerial bombings by the Sudanese government time and time again. Although horrific, it is commonplace for the Nubian people to have seen friends and family die in bombings and military attacks. By God’s grace and pressure from the US with a promise of sanctions being lifted, a ceasefire has been implemented in Darfur, Nuba, and the Blue Nile. President Al-Bashir was not driven by compassion on the people he was killing, but by a financial raise in the world’s economy. However, this time of peace made our task of distributing Bibles to the Nubian schools possible. This mission was 14 months in the making as Ben (our American team leader) prayed, coordinated, raised funds, gave sacrificially, and spent many sleepless nights ensuring that the Bibles made it into the hands of these dear children. We trust as God promised in Isaiah that His Word, like the rain that falls on the earth, produces life. “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it”(Isaiah 55:11).
We want to thank you for your faithful love, support and prayers! We are getting closer to covering the costs of the container, but are still about $7,000 away from our goal. We are also still raising support to cover our living costs and ask that you would prayerfully consider becoming a part of our monthly financial support team. We love and appreciate you, and are grateful to be on this amazing journey with you! With much love in Christ, Hunter, Andrea, Jeremy and Baby Combs |
