![]() As I continue to pray & look for ways to move to Africa, God keeps opening doors for the gospel here in the States. While with some friends at our Wednesday evening prayer time, we reflected on the witness of both Moses & Stephen, whose faces shone as they beheld God, and asked that God likewise shine through us in our time on the streets, even if we didn’t get to speak with certain people. A few days later, outside one of the many Planned Parenthoods near us, a lady exiting the nearby gym introduced herself to two of us with these words, “I just want to let you know how encouraging it is to see you here each week. You may not know it, but your faces really shine.” Praise God for the bright witness of his glory! How gracious an answer to prayer. ![]() We try to talk with the men going in as well, to encourage them to get testing done elsewhere & to provide resources for any women they have known. This man (right) shared about the ongoing pain he feels from a past abortion he made his girlfriend get. God opened a door that day to discuss the gospel at length with him, & though he is from a Christian background, (in fact, about 65% of women seeking abortions are from Christian & Catholic backgrounds!) the gospel came fresh to him that day, thank God! Pray it would take root. By God’s grace, he left his appointment there, and contacted the clinic we’d referred him to, which also has a ministry to people who have gone through abortions or miscarriages. Pray he would know God’s healing. One lady we met, whose sister-in-law was forced to have an abortion, shared her eagerness to study the Bible with a girl on our team, responding eagerly, “That’s exactly what I need right now.” Another woman stopped halfway from her car, turned to us with tears. “I’m four months pregnant; I don’t know what to do!” She agreed to be walked over to Real Options, a pregnancy center just down the road, and has met multiple times with the counselors there. Thank you, Lord!! Not all hearts are open however. One worker we spoke with (which conversation is an answer to prayer in itself), who even said a few times that she supported what we were doing there, admit- ted to knowing about Planned Parenthood’s widespread sale of baby parts, as well as their targeted marketing to minorities. Her only consolation: “I just have to hope that the women coming in here have agreed to that happening.” …What a hopeless and empty comfort! Pray that we would meet her again to share the hope of Christ with her, and that God would remove the veil from her heart and draw her away from death. He is able! In everything, give thanks.
