We are looking forward to finding out the gender of our child in 3 weeks’ time (17 August) at the 20-week scan! In the meantime, we would like to hear your vote (guess) on whether you think Little Lourens is a boy or a girl! Of course, we would be happy with either! God’s Gracious Provision God has already provided for our baby in so many amazing ways. Abrie has been doing a half-day security patrol job for the past month (this is just a temporary one-month job). Different people have already offered us four cots! Most amazing and special of all, is that Abrie’s parents will be giving us the family wiegie (that is Afrikaans for crib), which Abrie’s mother and his siblings slept in when they were babies. Please Pray for Abrie’s Upcoming Africa Reformation Overland Mission In mid-August, Abrie, Joseph and Francis will be embarking on a seven-country Africa Overland Mission to Zambia, Swaziland, Malawi, Mozambique, Botswana, Lesotho and South Africa. As this year is the 500th anniversary of the launch of the Protestant Reformation by Professor Martin Luther, we are seeking to lay foundations for Reformation in these countries. Please pray that God be glorified and His Kingdom extended. Pray for God’s blessing on the pastors’ conferences that they will be speaking at, for smooth border crossings, for wisdom in distributing the two tonnes of literature they will be taking with them and that they will have many opportunities to share the Gospel along the way. Urgent Appeal to Pray for Funds Our Mission Manager, Colin Newman, recently alerted us to a serious financial crisis that we are facing at the Mission. After utilising every reserve and funds from all our related ministries, such as Christian Liberty Books, Living Waters Africa and Africa Christian Action, we are still not able to meet even half of our financial commitments for the month of August. As a Faith Mission, we do not operate in debt, nor do we engage in fund raising. We seek to follow Hudson Taylor’s principles of concentrating on the work and trusting the Lord to provide all our needs through the free will offering of those who support our Mission. So far this year, Dr Peter Hammond has completed four Missions and Frontline Fellowship Mission teams have conducted services and seminars as far afield as Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia, Zambia, Tanzania and Sudan. Now, there are not yet enough funds for Abrie and the team even get to the first scheduled country. On 29 July, Dr Hammond is scheduled to conduct a Reaching Muslims for Christ Seminarup in Randburg, Johannesburg and the first week of August, he is scheduled to be the key-note speaker for a Biblical Worldview Conference in Nigeria. As things stand at this moment, we desperately need funds to pay essential expenses and enable all these missions and projects to go ahead. “Now may He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruit of your righteousness.” 1 Corinthians 9:10 Boxes with Love for Destitute Pensioners A highlight of any mission, is to deliver Boxes with Love to pensioners who have lost their life savings due to the collapse of the economy of their country. Part of our ministry is to bring relief aid to these people in need. In each donated package, we distribute food, medicines, literature, and other treats. The elderly are always so grateful and it is a privilege to spend time ministering to and fellowshipping with them. The bank details for those who want to support any of the projects are: Acc. Name: Frontline Fellowship First National Bank – Rondebosch Branch code: 201509 Acc. No: 5017 0589 260 Reference: (Initial & surname PLUS what it is for) Book and Audio-Visual Resource Sales Fund Missions Did you know that all proceeds generated from books and audio-visual resources sold through Christian Liberty Books supports Evangelism and Missions throughout Africa? By God’s grace, as a Faith Mission, Frontline Fellowship has never engaged in direct fund raising, nor taking up an offering at any of our meetings. In 35 years, Dr Hammond has never taken royalties for any of the over 50 books and Manuals he has authored. Everything is given directly into the Mission. Our Christian Liberty Books ministry is a not-for-profit ministry and any funds generated go directly into Missions. Please consider perusing www.christianlibertybooks.co.za for a gift for a friend or family member and help fund the upcoming seven-country overland mission. Women’s Day Outreaches On Wednesday, 9 August, Women’s Day, Africa Christian Action will be setting up literature tables in three different shopping malls in the Cape Town area: Long Beach Mall (Noordhoek), Parow Centre and Bayside Mall (Tableview). This is also a great opportunity to reach unchurched people. We will be distributing free literature to all interested people, primarily focusing on informing and motivating people to make a difference in stopping human trafficking. We have included a Gospel message in our Stop the Traffick! Tract that is distributed to over 4 000 people at these outreaches. Free balloons, with anti-trafficking, pro-family messages and Scripture on them. These are distributed to children – this proved to be a huge attraction in the past. Funds allowing, free roses, or posies are distributed to women. Thank You Thank you for praying for and supporting us. It is appreciated. You are in our thoughts and prayers. “Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the Word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honoured, as happened among you, and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men. For not all have Faith.” 2 Thessalonians 3:1-2 Abrie and Taryn Lourens Africa Christian Action & Frontline Fellowship PO Box 74 Newlands 7725 Cape Town South Africa Tel: 021-689 4481 E-mail: info@christianaction.org.za Web: www.christianaction.org.za Join us on Facebook
