Please Pray for Abrie’s Upcoming Africa Reformation Overland Mission
In mid-August, Abrie, Daniel, Tobie and Alieske will be embarking on a seven-country Africa Overland Mission to Zambia, Swaziland, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Botswana, and Namibia. Ulrich Zwingli brought Switzerland back to the Bible through expository preaching - by preaching verse by verse through the New Testament, starting in Matthew one, verse one on the first of January 1519. As next year is the 500th anniversary of the launch of the Swiss Reformation by Reformer Ulrich Zwingli, our team will be particularly focussing on conducting Biblical Preaching Workshops for pastors. Abrie and Daniel will be teaching them practically how to interpret the Bible in context, and preach expositionally. He will challenge them to preach through the entire Gospel of John to their congregation and will help get them started with resources to do this.
Dear Friends and Family
God’s Gracious Provision
In our last newsletter (July 2018), we asked you to pray that Abrie’s boss of the Phoenix Security Company that he works two days a week for, would be gracious to allow him to continue working after his upcoming 6 week mission. He has said Abrie will be welcome to! People from our church have also been so generous towards us. We were recently given a big packet of second-hand baby clothes (this is in addition to many other new and second-hand baby clothes we were given before Emma was born) and a box of nappies. We praise God for His gracious provision for our family in small and large ways.
Dear friends and family
How are you? By God’s grace, the three of us are well. Thank you for praying for us, especially for Frontline Fellowship’s recent mission to the Nuba mountains of Sudan. The team was able to distribute over 32 000 Bibles - the largest shipment of Bibles ever smuggled into an officially Islamic country. Thank you especially to those who made this mission financially possible. We are excited to report back on many answers to prayer and family news.
By God’s grace and in answer to prayer, Ben was able to negotiate incredible logistical challenges and have the container of 40 000 Bibles and 50 000 Story of Jesus Christ story booklets successfully delivered to the Nuba Mountains. The purpose of our mission was to carefully distribute the Bibles to pastors, teachers, military personnel and school children. We were able to distribute 32 000 of these Bibles and 43 000 of the booklets throughout the Nuba mountains of Sudan. We praise God for His protection over the many thousands of kilometres of flying and driving in dangerous areas. Thank you to all who made it financially possible and for praying for us.
