Coptic Christians Targeted in Egypt
In Egypt, Salafis Muslims are kidnapping Coptic Christian girls for forced conversion to Islam and marriage to Muslims. Coptic girls have also been subjected to violent attacks on the streets. Frequently these knife attacks are by Muslim women wearing hijabs (a black face covering with only narrow slit for the eyes). These hijabs prevent the assailants from being identified for prosecution.

Eritrea
Over 3,000 Christians are imprisoned in Eritrea and all missionaries have been expelled from the country.

Beheaded in Somalia
In Somalia, on 16 November, Al-Shabaab Muslims publically beheaded 25-year-old, Farhan Haji Mose, for leaving Islam and embracing "the foreign religion of Christianity". 

Churches Bombed and Burned in Kenya
In Kenya, where Christians are the majority, numerous churches have been attacked by Muslim militants connected with Al-Shabaab. Churches have been bombed and others have been burned down. Numerous Christians have been killed and crippled in these terror attacks. On Sunday, 4 November, chaplain Julius Mukonyi was killed and 11 Christians injured in a bomb attack on a church in Garissa. The chaplain was preaching when the bomb landed on the pulpit.

Persecution in Pakistan
In Pakistan, Christians have been beaten by mobs for sharing the Gospel with their neighbours.

Suicide Bombings in Nigeria
Suicide bombing attacks on churches in Nigeria continue to kill and cripple Christians gathering for worship. Christian students at some colleges have been targeted, called upon to deny their Faith, or be hacked to death with machetes. Many churches, businesses and homes of Christians have been targeted for arson attacks and burnt to the ground. There have been over 700 attacks against Christians by Muslims in Northern Nigeria recorded during 2012. On Sunday, 25 November, 20 Christians were killed and many wounded in a twin suicide bombing of St. Andrews Protestant Church inside the Jaji military barracks in Kaduna. Investigators believe that the bombers may have been residents of the barracks and that they built the bomb on site. This has raised fears that all military and police establishments which have Muslim staff and personnel could be similarly targeted from within.

Muslim Mobs on the Rampage
On 1 December, 9 Christians were killed and 4 churches were burned down in two separate attacks in Borno state, in North Eastern Nigeria. Muslims went on the rampage burning the homes of 20 Christians and a church in Kwaple village. Another 3 churches were burned in Gamboru, Ngala. 10 Christians were killed in the attacks by Muslims in Kwaple.

Jihad in Nigeria
In a press communication released on 29 November, the radical Muslim terrorist group, Boko Haram declared: "Jihad started now! Jihad started now, oh enemies of Allah!" On Sunday morning, 2 December, approximately 50 Muslim terrorists, in cars and on motorbikes, attacked a police station, immigration and customs offices and 3 churches in Gamboru, Ngala, in Borno state, near the border of Cameroon. Before launching the attack, the Jihadists destroyed the mobile phone masts to prevent communication and delay the arrival of ambulances and reaction teams.

Murder in Allah's Name
Shouting "Allah Akbar", they opened fire, killing 5 police. While torching churches, targeting the homes of Christians, slitting the throats of Christians and looting the neighbourhood, they chanted "Allah Akbar" repeatedly. At least 10 Christians were killed in this attack. A tailor was shot for making clothes which the Islamists deemed un-Islamic. 

Phenomenal Church Growth
Yet, while persecution, particularly in the Muslim and communist world is increasing, Bible-based, Evangelical Christianity is the fastest growing Faith on the planet. Mega Shift documents that while liberal mainline denominations are losing members, the fastest growing religious movement on earth are those who are Biblically inspired, born again and Evangelistic. 

A Massive Spiritual Harvest
Bible-believing Evangelicals are increasing by 8% a year. Every day an average of 175,000 more Bible-believing Evangelicals are added to the Church, net gain. There are over 707 million Bible-believing Christians who would describe themselves as born again.

Muslims Turning to Christ
Over 200,000 Muslims have been converted to Christ in the last 6 years. Many of these converts include Sheiks, Imams and other Muslim leaders. There is a tremendous dissatisfaction and disillusionment amongst many of those who have studied the Qur'an and know it the best, and who are informed concerning the history of Islam. 

Violent Backlash
It is this explosive growth of the Christian Church, in many cases at the expense of Islam, that has led to this vicious backlash by Muslim terrorists. There is a desperation that they are losing ground and they are reacting in the only way they know how, violently. 

From Islam to Christianity
For 36 years, Nigeria was considered a Muslim country, and was a member of the Organisation of Islamic Countries. Yet, now, the percentage of Christians in Nigeria outnumbers those of Muslims. Many Churches in Northern Nigeria are made up primarily of converts from a Muslim background, members of the Hausa and Fulani tribes, which traditionally have been completely Muslim. 

Winning Muslims to Christ
It is these churches which have large numbers of Muslim converts which are primarily being targeted by the Jihadists. There have been cases of entire mosques being converted to Christ. One Muslim town in Northern Nigeria, which has martyred numerous Christians, now has 7 thriving churches. 

"The desert tribes will bow before Him and His enemies will lick the dust… all kings will bow down to Him and all nations shall serve Him." Psalm 72:9-11

A New Wave of Muslim Massacres
In the early 19th Century, after the Ottoman Empire suffered defeats at the hands of Russia and Austria, and as the Greeks and Serbs mounted successful wars of national liberation, Sultan Mahmut II decided to massacre all the janissaries. The reforms and westernisation of state institutions, however, was accompanied by escalating persecution of Christians. Despite the adopting of a Western style constitution in 1839, to placate the European powers, the last century of Ottoman rule witnessed the most thorough and complete destruction of Christian communities throughout the Middle East, Asia Minor, the Caucasus and the Balkans. In 1822, the entire population of the Island of Chios, tens of thousands of people, were massacred or enslaved. In 1823, 8750 Christians were slaughtered by the Turks at Missolonghi. Thousands of Assyrian Christians were murdered in the province of Mossul in 1850. In 1860 over 12,000 Christians were slaughtered in Lebanon. In 1876, 14,700 Bulgarians were murdered by the Turks. At the town of Batao, out of 7,000 inhabitants, 5,000 were put to the sword.
 
"THE SCANDALOUS ALLIANCE"
The reports of these and other routine atrocities by the Ottoman Turks were generally suppressed by the British government of Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli, who promoted an alliance with Turkey against Russia. 

Gladstone opposed the Turkophile policies of Disraeli in these words: "He is not such a Turk as I thought. What he hates is Christian liberty and reconstruction." What Gladstone observed 125 years ago, could easily be applied to the foreign policies of many Western governments today: the Islamophilia in the West is not so much love of the Turk, but hatred of Christianity. As Serge Trifkovic in "The Sword of the Prophet" observes: "The great Western powers - the heirs of those who had looted Constantinople in the Crusades and refused to help when the Turks were breaking through the walls with a cannon built by an Hungarian Catholic, who forced the last Emperors to forswear their Orthodox faith at the Council of Florence as the price of Western help that never came - those same Western powers, and Great Britain in particular, actually supported the Turkish subjugation of Christian Europeans on the grounds that the Muhammadan empire was a stabilising force and a counter-weight against Austria and Russia. The scandalous alliance with Turkey against Russia in the Crimean war reflected a pernicious frame of mind that has manifested itself more recently in the overt, covert, or de facto support of certain Western powers for the Muslim side in Bosnia, Kosova, Macedonia, Chechnya, Cyprus, Sudan, East Timor and Kashmir."
 
The Forgotten Holocaust
The Turks slaughtered over 200,000 Armenian Christians in Bayazid (1877), Alashgurd (1879), Sassun (1894), Constantinople (1896), Adana (1909) and in Armenia (1895 - 1896). And in 1915 the Turks massacred over 1.5 million Armenian Christians. 

"Passage to Ararat" describes how along the road to Adana, Turkish women were given daggers to stab dying Armenians in order to gain the credit in the eyes of Allah of having killed a Christian. 

In 1881 the Turks slaughtered the Christians in Alexandria. In 1915 - 1916 over a 100,000 Maronite Christians in Lebanon and Syria were murdered. Benjamin Disraeli

It is no wonder that the British Prime Minister Gladstone described the Muslim Turks as: "They were, upon the whole, from the black day when they first entered Europe the one great anti -human specimen of humanity. Wherever they went a broad line of blood marked the track behind them, and, as far as their dominion reached, civilisation disappeared from view. They represented everywhere government by force as opposed to government by law."
 
Slaughter in Smyrna
Even as the Ottoman Empire crumbled and was replaced by the new Republic of Turkey under Mustafa Kemal Ataturk the ancient city of Smyrna with its 300,000 Christian population was destroyed. The burning of Smyrna and the massacre of its Christian population marked the end of Greek civilisation in Asia Minor. On the eve of its destruction, Smyrna was a bustling port and a vibrant commercial centre. The seafront promenade was a popular tourist destination. 

On 9 September 1922 the Turkish mob, organized and mobilized by the Turkish army under the command of Mustafa Kemal, attacked the Greek Orthodox Metropolitan Chrysostomos. The mob ripped his eyes out, and dragged him by the beard, bleeding though the streets, beating and kicking him. Every now and then, when he had the strength to do it, he would raise his right hand and bless his persecutors, repeating: "Father, forgive them." One Turk became so infuriated at this that he cut off the Metropolitan's hand with his sword. Father Chrysostomos was hacked to pieces by the angry mob. The burning of Smyrna began on 13 September. The inhabitants were trapped between the flames on the one side and the Turkish bayonets on the other. 

On 13 September 1922, the Turks burned Smyrna to the ground.
 
The Curse of Neutrality
Incredibly, English, American, Italian and French ships anchored in Smyrna's harbour were ordered to maintain neutrality. Some of the eye witnesses described the scene: "The pitiful throng - huddled together, sometimes screaming for help, but mostly waiting in a silent panic beyond hope - didn't budge for days. Typhoid reduced their numbers, but there was no way to dispose of the dead. Occasionally a person would swim from the dock to one of the anchored ships and try to climb the ropes and chains, only to be driven off. On the American battleships, the musicians on board were ordered to play as loudly as they could to drown out the screams of the pleading swimmers. The English poured boiling water down on the unfortunates who reached their vessel. The harbour was so clogged with corpses that the officers of the foreign battleships were often late to their dinner appointments because bodies would get entangled in the propellers of their launches... A cluster of women's heads bound together like coconuts by their long hair floated down a river toward the harbour..."
 
"An Unmitigated Cultural Disaster"
That was the end of Christianity in Turkey. As Trifkovic observes:
"At the very time that Europe achieved its military and geopolitical advantage, the moral and religious decline that culminated in the auto-genocides of 1914 and 1939 had become evident. Having found in their grasp places their Crusader predecessors had only dreamed of reclaiming: Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Antioch, Alexandria, and Constantinople - effete and demoralised European governments made no effort to re-Christianise them and, within a few decades neatly abandoned them. The moral disarmament of contemporary post-Christian Europe is now nearly universal. After World War I, with the installation of nominally pro- Western governments in many Muslim countries fashioned from the wreckage of the Ottoman Empire, the West seemed to have convinced itself of the existence of benign Islam."
 
Entire peoples have been obliterated in the Middle East. The Nestorians, the Chaldeans and other Christian communities were wiped out. As late as 1955 Istanbul's Christians suffered what one reporter called "the worst race riot in Europe."
 
It is no wonder that William Muir, (1819 - 1905), one of the greatest Orientalist of all times, concluded at the end of a long and distinguished career: "the sword of Muhammad and the Quran are the most fatal enemies of civilisation, liberty and truth which the world has yet known. ...an unmitigated cultural disaster parading as God's will..."
 
Intellectual Dishonesty
The persecution of Christians by Muslims has become a forbidden subject in Western circles. Thirteen Centuries of religious discrimination and persecution, causing the suffering, oppression, murder and enslavement of countless millions have been buried under a thick whitewash of myths of Islamic "tolerance". The deceit, cowardice and silence by all too many western journalists and academics continues to facilitate the religious discrimination and persecution of radical Islam to this day.

The intellectual dishonesty of those westerners who engage in academic gymnastics to justify the invasion of other peoples lands, the looting, pillaging, raping, murdering and enslaving of whole peoples, needs to be exposed. The hypocrisy of those who justify the military expansion of Muslims, but condemn those who inflicted defeats upon these Islamic invaders, needs to be challenged. The fiction that Jihad has never been an aggressive, but only a defensive concept, should be dismissed with the contempt that such deception deserves. When Islam defines a refusal to submit to Sharia law under Islam as aggression, and when they define peace as submission to Islam, then we must know that we are not talking the same language.
 
Sharia in Saudi
For an up to date 21st Century glimpse of Islam look at Saudi Arabia. The US State Department report on Human Rights in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in AD 2000 gives some indication of what is in store for those countries in Europe and Africa if Islam achieves a majority and enforces Sharia law: "Freedom of religion does not exist. Islam is the official religion, and all citizens must be Muslims. Neither the government, nor society in general, accepts the concepts of the separation of religion and state, and such separation does not exist. Under Sharia, conversion by a Muslim to another religion is considered apostasy. Public apostasy is a crime punishable by death if the accused does not recant. Islamic religious education is mandatory in public schools at all levels. All children receive religious instruction ...citizens do not have the right to change their government. ...there is legal and systematic discrimination based on sex and religion."
 
The Saudi religious police, (the Committee to Promote Virtue and Prevent Vice) routinely intimidates, abuses and detains citizens and foreigners. The authorities flog, amputate, execute by beheading and stoning, or firing squad. A Saudi Arabian court even ordered that the eye of an Egyptian man be removed as a punishment. Most trials are closed, and defendants usually appear without an attorney before a judge who determines their guilt or innocence according to the Sharia. Banners and adverts offer financial rewards to Saudis who inform on fellows Saudis who attend a Christian meeting or who have a Bible. Although Saudi Arabia has paid for the construction of over a thousand mosques in the United States, and several thousands in other parts of the world, no churches or synagogues are allowed in Saudi Arabia.
 
Jihad Seeks to Conquer our Souls
As one Italian described Jihad: "seeks to conquer our souls. That seeks the disappearance of our freedoms and civilisation. That seeks to annihilate our way of living and dying, our way of praying or not praying, our way of eating and drinking and dressing and entertaining and informing ourselves. We don't understand or don't want to understand that if we don't oppose them, if we don't defend ourselves, if we don't fight, the Jihad will win. And it will destroy the world that for better or worse we've managed to build... it will destroy our culture, our art, our science, our morals, our values, our pleasures."

A Reaction to Jihad
The crusades were a reaction to centuries of Islamic Jihad. Muslim armies had conquered most of the Byzantine Empire. The enemy was literally at the gates of the greatest Christian city in the world at the time, Constantinople. Muslims had conquered Spain, Sicily, Southern Italy and many of the islands in the Mediterranean Sea.
Persecution and PiracyVast territories which had once belonged to Christians were now under the rule of Islamic rulers who abused the Christians, looted churches, kidnapped, tortured and ransomed Christian pilgrims. Millions of Christians were being enslaved by the Muslim world. Muslim Pirates were threatening Christian shipping. Christian lands were threatened by Islamic raids and full scale invasion.

Exploiting Exhaustion
Even before the death of Muhammad in 632, Muslim forces were already raiding the Byzantine Empire and Persia. Both Byzantium and Persia were weakened by incessant wars against one another. The Arabs were able to exploit the exhaustion of the Persians and the Byzantines, not only by hit and run raids for plunder and loot, but also by sustained military campaigns to wrest substantial territory away from these vast empires.

The Invasion of Syria
Syria was the first Arab conquest. At that time Syria was a province of the Byzantine Empire. The capital of Syria, Damascus, was the oldest continually inhabited city in the world. The land of Syria was far more fertile than the land of Arabia. After centuries of Byzantine rule Syria had fallen to the Persians in 611 and were retaken by Byzantine in 630. As the Persians had destroyed the institutions of Byzantine rule, a leadership vacuum had developed.
Betrayed from WithinAs the Byzantine Empire employed many Arab mercenaries to guard against their raiding kinsmen from the south, the defection of most of the Arab defenders left huge gaping holes in the defences of Syria. During key battles, the defection of Arab mercenaries, who were meant to be fighting for Byzantine, was decisive in turning the tide of battle against the Christians. Soon the Muslim Caliph established Damascus as the capital of the growing Islamic Empire.

Targeting Persia
The next target was Persia, which at that time included Mesopotamia, what is today known as Iraq. Here as well, whole units of the Persian cavalry consisted exclusively of Arab mercenaries. The Muslims managed to exploit the conflict of loyalties by persuading whole units of Arab mercenaries to turn traitor and join the Muslim side. Soon even the heartland of Persia, what is today known as Iran, was conquered by the Muslims. Yet, the Persians continued to rebel against Muslim rule for at least another century.
Invading IndiaCaliph Al-Mansur moved the capital of the Muslim Empire from Damascus to Baghdad. From this base, Muslim armies moved out to conquer the Indus valley of India (what today is known as Pakistan).

The Betrayal of Jerusalem
As Palestine was part of the Byzantine province of Syria, the decisive defeat of the Greek forces at the Battle of Yarmuk left Jerusalem vulnerable to attack. Many Jews, hostile to the Greek Christians of the Byzantine Empire, welcomed the invading Muslim forces and opened the gates of Jerusalem to the Caliph in 638. Despite this, the Caliph prohibited all Jews from living in Jerusalem.

Massacres in Egypt
Egypt was a province of the Byzantine Empire. The abandonment of Syria and Palestine by the Greek forces left Egypt particularly vulnerable and isolated. The first invasion of Egypt in 639 by the forces of Caliph Umar was unsuccessful. In 640 a force of 12,000 Muslims attacked and succeeded in luring the Byzantine army out from their secured walled cities, whereupon they were ambushed and slaughtered in great numbers. The Muslim invaders then massacred the inhabitants of the undefended city of Nikiou and a number of other towns.

The Betrayal of Alexandria
Alexandria was the second largest city in the Christian world at that time. When the Arabs attacked the city of Alexandria they were repulsed with great losses. The Arabs thereupon withdrew out of range of the catapult shots and arrows of the walls and began what should have been a hopeless siege. 

As Alexandria was a port and the Byzantine navy had supremacy of the Mediterranean they could have easily resupplied and reinforced Alexandria for as long as necessary. However, inexplicably, the new governor of Egypt, Cyrus, betrayed Alexandria, and all of Egypt, by handing it over, without a fight, to the Muslim invaders.

Massacre in Alexandria
Four years later a Byzantine fleet of 300 vessels arrived at Alexandria and re-conquered the city of Alexandria with ease. So the Greeks once again had an impregnable position behind the formidable walls of the city. However, a foolish and arrogant commander led his soldiers out, in a very ill advised move, and was ambushed. Even so, the Arabs had no chance of conquering Alexandria. It was at this time that a traitor opened the gates of the city to the Arabs and the Muslims poured into the city massacrering, plundering and burning until more than half of the great city was destroyed.

Arming their Enemies
Recognising their great naval weakness, the Muslims turned to the Egyptian shipyards and commissioned Christian workmen to build them a fleet. They hired Christian mercenaries to do their navigation and sailing. In 649 this entirely mercenary fleet enabled the Muslims to invade Cyprus, Sicily and the island of Rhodes.
Civil WarAt this point an opportunity arose that would have enabled the Christian Byzantine Empire to regain all their losses as the Muslim world erupted in a vicious civil war. Muhammad’s cousin and son-in-law, Ali, waged war against Muawiyah, the cousin of the murdered Caliph Uthman. Ali was murdered and Muawiyah became Caliph. From this point Islam was divided into the Sunnis and the Shiites. However, the Christian world failed to take advantage of this opportunity to regain their lost territories.
 
Conquering North Africa
At this time, with the exception of conquered Egypt, the entire north coast of Africa was still under rule of the Byzantine Empire. The Arabs targeted the desert dwelling Berber tribe, many of whom had converted to Judaism. After much bloodshed and bitter resistance, the Berbers were subjugated and enlisted as allies of the Araba combined Arab and Berber Muslim army of 40,000 swept over the coastal cities taking the ancient capital of Carthage, which in 705 was razed to the ground and most of its inhabitants massacred.s. In 698

Invading Spain
In 711 an army of 10,000 Muslims from Morocco crossed the Mediterranean at its narrowest western point to land at Gibraltar on the southern coast of Spain. King Rodrigo marched a hastily assembled army south from his capital in Toledo and was defeated in a battle at the river Guadalete. The king was drowned and the Berber Tariq Ibn-ziyad sent the king’s head to the Caliph in Damascus. Within 7 years the Moors (as the Spanish called the Muslim invaders from Morocco) had brought most of Spain, which they called Al-Andalus, under their control. The Muslims called Spain the Emirate of Cordoba. On the site of a Christian cathedral in the city of Cordoba the moors built a large mosque.

Subjugating Sicily
There were numerous Muslim invasions of Sicily, in 652, 667 and 720 - each of which were defeated. In 827 the Muslims invaded again with 10,000 troops. The local Christians fought back furiously and it took more than 70 years for the Muslims to conquer Sicily, after “much fighting and many massacres.” After a prolonged siege, Palermo fell in 831. Cyracuse held out until 878. Taormina held out until 902.

Invading Italy
From Sicily the Muslims invaded southern Italy, conquering Taranto and Bari in 840. The historic city of Rome was looted in 843 and all the famous churches were looted in 846. The Muslim occupation of Sicily and southern Italy lasted for over 200 years.

Islands Invaded
Cyprus was invaded and conquered by the Muslims in 653. Rhodes in 672. Sardinia in 809. Majorca was conquered in 818. The island of Crete was invaded by the Muslims in 824. Malta fell in 835. Plainly, the popular propaganda line that Islam only advanced peacefully, and that Jihad was only a defensive concept is fiction. What were Saudi Arabians defending in Spain and Cyprus?

Overstretched and Undertrained
It should be noted that, at that time, most of the armies of Persia and the Byzantine Empire were poorly trained. Most were used for static defence of strong points such as garrisons and walled cities. Very few were trained in manouvres for battle. The Byzantine Empire was particularly overstretched with insufficient soldiers to maintain their vast empire. Most of the soldiers employed by both Byzantine and Persia were foreigners who served mainly for pay, and many of these were Arabs, most of whom ended up deserting to the Muslim side.

Mobility
The use of camels provided the Arab invaders with superior mobility, particularly across the deserts. Even the Arab cavalry rode between battles on camels, leading their horses. The camels enabled the Muslims to outflank imperial forces by using desert routes. When confronted by superior forces the Arabs withdrew into the desert to avoid battle. This much greater mobility allowed the Arabs to select and attack smaller forces and destroy them before reinforcements could be sent. The imperial forces of Byzantine made themselves vulnerable by spreading out and trying to defend everywhere at once, or wore themselves out marching in fruitless pursuit of a battle. These battles the Arabs normally avoided until they greatly outnumbered their enemies.

The immensity of the Byzantine Empire stretched the Byzantine forces far too thin. However, the Arabs concentrated their forces to attack specific areas at a time.

The Myth of Islamic Tolerance
Muslim propaganda makes great claims as to the tremendous tolerance which was meant to have been shown by Muslim rulers to Christian subjects. Actually, these claims began with Voltaire and other 18th century humanists who continually tried to cast Christians in the worst possible light and in this case invented the fiction of Islamic tolerance. From the very beginning Muslim authorities went to great lengths to humiliate and punish Dhimmis, Jews and Christians who refused to convert to Islam.

Dhimmitude
Official Islamic policy was that Dhimmis must feel “inferior” and subjugated. Laws were passed that Christians and Jews were not allowed to ride horses. Jews and Christians were compelled to wear marks of their religion when they were amongst Muslims. Non-Muslims were prohibited from wearing clothing similar to that of Muslims. Non-Muslims were forbidden to be armed. Non-Muslims were severely taxed (Jizya). No new churches of synagogues were allowed to be built. Jews and Christians were prohibited from praying aloud, or even reading the Scriptures aloud, not even in their homes or churches – lest a Muslim accidently hear them.

Massacres of Christians
In 705 the Muslim invaders of Armenia assembled all Christian nobles in a church and burned them to death. Massacres of Jews and Christians were common. In Morocco over 6,000 Jews were killed in 1033. Even more were murdered in Grenada. Tens of thousands of Christian civilians were massacred by the Muslim invaders of Cyprus in 1570. Any Muslim who converted to any other faith was condemned to death. Those today who attempt to portray Muslims through the ages as enlightened supporters of multi-cultural tolerance are either ignorant or dishonest.

Islamic Defeats
Despite Muhammad’s assurance that it was impossible for Islamic armies to ever be defeated by “infidels”, Muslim armies have suffered numerous defeats throughout the centuries. In 672, the Caliph Muawiyah attempted to conquer the capital of the Byzantine Empire, Constantinople. With the massive fleet he had built up by the Egyptians, he transported 50,000 fighting men through the Dardanelles, (the narrow straight linking the Mediterranean with the Black Sea).

Clash of Civilizations at ConstantinopleThe Islamic assault on Constantinople in 672 was described as “the fiercest, which had ever been launched by the infidels against a Christian stronghold…” Numerous historians hailed the Christian victory over the Muslims assailing Constantinople as “A Turning point in the history of mankind.” “The fact that it held saved not only the Byzantine Empire, but the whole of European civilisation.” As another historian put it: “Had the Muslims captured Constantinople in the 7th century, rather than the 15th, all Europe – and America, might be Muslim today.”
Supreme TechnologiesDespite modern myths about the supposed superiority of Islamic culture and technology, the fact is that the Christians possessed superior technology and used it to defeat the Muslim invaders on numerous occasions. The walls of Constantinople were an engineering marvel, a massive outer wall with towers and superb battlements, and behind it an even stronger inner wall, 40 feet high and 15 feet thick.




Greek FireThe Christians also had what was called “Greek fire”. The Greek engineer Kallinikos of Heliopolis had developed an incendiary weapon which literally destroyed the Muslim fleet. Greek fire was effectively a primitive flame thrower which included a pump that discharged a stream of flaming liquid through a tube projected from the bow of a galley. They could also use their catapults to hurtle pottery containing Greek fire over 400 to 500 meters away. 

When it struck, it shattered, burst into flame, splashing its blazing liquid over large areas of the enemy. On several occasions the Byzantines rode out and incinerated the Muslim navy.


Defeats at ConstantinopleWith their fleet burned to a cinder the Arab invaders were soon stranded and starving. Discouraged and demoralised Muawiyah surrendered and agreed to pay an annual tribute of 300 pounds of gold to Byzantine. In 717, the Muslims once again tried to conquer Constantinople. A massive fleet of 1,800 galleys attacked Constantinople. The Greek Christians rode out and with their Greek fire, pumps destroyed virtually the entire fleet. Most of the Muslim attackers were either burned up or downed. The next year, 718, the Muslims tried again with a new fleet and this was again defeated by Greek fire. Most of those galleys that managed to flee were destroyed in a devastating storm. Only five Muslim galleys survived the attack of 718.
Defeat at ToulouseWhile the Muslim ambitions of conquering South Eastern Europe were frustrated by the apparently impregnable Constantinople, Muslim armies had attained far greater success on the Western edge of the Mediterranean, subjugating Spain. In 721, Al-Samah Ibn-Malik al-Khawlani the Caliph of Aldover (Spain), led his forces north of the Pyrenees Mountains to sack the city of Toulouse. For three months the city resisted his siege. Then Duke Odo of Aquitaine mobilised an army of Franks to lift the siege of Toulouse. The Muslims were taken by surprise and most were slaughtered as they fled before the Christian cavalry.


Islamic Invasion of FranceIn 732, Abd-al-Rahman mobilised a massive army of 80,000 fighting men to invade Gaul (present day France). As they moved north from Spain the Muslims plundered cities and laid waste to the countryside. Muslim historians recorded that Al-Rahman “burned churches and imagined he could pillage the Basilica of St. Martin of Tours.” An Arab historian noted: “The hearts of Abd-al-Rahman, his captains and his men were filled with wrath and pride”.
Charles MartelHe was to meet his match in Charles Martel, the Hammer. Martel, the son of King Pippin of the Franks, was an unusually tall and powerfully built man. Charles Martel was already famous for his great military exploits. He was perhaps the only man in Chrisendorm at that time who could have provided a serious challenge to the advancing Muslim forces.


The Battle of ToursThe Muslims were completely taken by surprise when they found their path to St. Martin of Tours blocked by dense lines of well-armoured infantry on the crest of a hill. With forests on both flanks, Martel had chosen his battleground well, forcing the Muslims to charge uphill. For seven days skirmishes were fought, before Al-Rahman ordered his cavalry to charge the Christian Franks. 

Charles Martel had his men closely packed forming a solid shield wall, and their long spears thrust into the ground to deter cavalry. A contemporary wrote of the Franks: “firmly they stood, one close to another, forming as it were a bulwark of ice.” Six times the Muslim cavalry charged the Frankish line and each time they were repulsed with severe casualties. Soon the battleground was filled with vast numbers of dead and dying, and the repeated furious charges of Muslims seemed to have absolutely no effect on the steadfast Christians who stood resolute in their ranks.

 Decisive VictoryWhen the Muslims heard that some Franks had broken into their camp, they fled from the battlefield to protect their loot. At this the Franks unleashed their cavalry and inflicted even more severe casualties on the fleeing Muslims. At least 10,000 more died that afternoon, fleeing from the field. Among the dead lay the Caliph Abd-al-Rahman. Even at this point, Charles Martel maintained the discipline of his infantry, leaving the pursuit to the cavalry. Prepared to face a renewed onslaught the next day, the Franks slept in their ranks. The next morning scouts reported that the Muslims had fled leaving their empty tents and siege engines behind. The invaders fled back beyond the Pyrenees to Spain.
Liberating FranceThat was not the end of the Islamic threat to France. When the Muslims tried to invade Gaul again in 735, Charles Martel and the Franks gave them another severe beating. Many historians recognise the decisive victory at the Battle of Tours, or Poitiers, as one of the most important battles in world history, a turning point, absolutely essential to the survival of Western civilisation. In 759, the last foothold of Islam in South Eastern France was retaken. The Muslim armies never crossed the Pyrenees after that. In fact they began to be defeated even in Spain.
Liberating SpainThe Muslims never conquered all of Spain. Many Spanish stalwarts stood firm on the Northern coast of Spain, by the Bay of Biscay, in an area known as Asturias. From the Christian Kingdom of Asturias, beginning in 741, the Reconquista, or the re-conquest, of Spain began. The first area to be liberated from the Muslim invaders was Galicia. In 778, the grandson of Charles Martel, Charlemagne,marched two armies into Spain to begin the liberation of South Western Europe from Islam. Within a few years, Charlemagne’s army had forced the Muslims south of Barcelona. The fall of Toledo on 25 May 1085, was a strategic and psychological disaster for the Muslims.
El CidIn 1092, King Alfonso VI of Castile, recalled Spain’s most famous knight from exile.Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, known as El Cid, liberated Valencia in 1094, and defeated the Muslims time and again. Frequently he seized the initiative and charged besieging forces, turning the tide and inflicting decisive defeats on the Muslim occupiers.
In Valencia he turned nine mosques into Christian churches. El Cid’s resounding victories, often against overwhelming odds, inspired Christians throughout Europe that the Muslim invaders could be defeated.
Liberating Italy and SicilyIn 873, the Byzantine Emperor, Basil I, defeated the Muslims throughout Dalmatia and liberated much of Southern Italy from the Muslim invaders. In 1038, the Byzantines determined to put an end to Muslim piracy by liberating the island of Sicily. Their invasion was well timed, as the Muslim Emirs in Sicily had turned on one another and were involved in one of the many internal conflicts and betrayals that frequently erupt in the Muslim world. George Maniakes employed Lombardian mercenaries and Norman knights to help liberate Sicily. Within two years over a dozen major fortresses had been taken, major battles had been won and Messina and Syracuse were in Christian hands.
Viking VictoriesHowever, when the Byzantines alienated the Vikings, William of Hauteville (Iron Arm) led the Norsemen to seize the southernmost province of Italy. Although vastly outnumbered, the Normans routed the Byzantines time and again. Iron Arm and his Vikings prevailed and the Byzantines never attempted to fight an open battle with them in Italy. Southern Italy was transformed into a Norman Kingdom. In 1061, Robert Guiscard, Duke of Southern Italy determined to seize Sicily, first conquering Messina and then Palermo. In 1098, Robert Guiscard’s eldest son, Bohemond, let the Crusader forces that took the city of Antioch. Bohemondbecame the ruler of the Kingdom of Antioch. From the time of the Norman conquest of Sicily, the Muslims never again regained control of that island.
Muslim Navy AnnihilatedIn 747, a huge Arab armada, of a thousand galleys, was annihilated by a vastly smaller Byzantine fleet off the island of Cyprus. Only three Arab ships survived the engagement.
 Christian Victories over IslamThese are but a few examples of Christian victories and Muslim defeats before the Crusades even began. The myth of Islamic invincibility was plainly propaganda. Before the Knights of Europe marched, or sailed, to the Holy Land, they already knew a lot about their Muslim enemies. Most importantly, they knew how to beat them.

Demographic Shift
Sociologist Felice Dassetto, author of The Iris and the Crescent book, projects that Muslims will comprise the majority of the population of Brussels by 2030. Muslims are now officially 6% of the total population of Belgium, but over 25% of the population of Brussels. His year long research has shown that Islam now mobilises more people in Brussels than the Roman Catholic Church, political parties, or even the trade unions.

Abortion and Immigration
With the low birth rate of Belgians, and extremely high abortion rates, the indigenous Belgian population is in steep decline. However, the Muslim community continues to grow through both high birth rates and marriage migration. Nearly 35% of the Moroccans and Turks in Belgium are below 18 years of age, as compared to 18% of Belgians. In Antwerp, Belgium's second largest city, 40% of elementary school children are Muslim.

De-Christianising the Calendar
The French speaking Southern region of Belgium, Wallonia, has officially renamed the four major Christian holidays on the Belgian school calendar, replacing them with secular names. All Saints Day is now to be referred to as Autumn Leave. Christmas is now described as Winter Vacation. Lent is now Rest and Relaxation Leave, and Easter: Spring Vacation. Along with the official move to de-Christianise the holidays of Belgium, has come a new decree, allowing Muslims to add Islamic religious holidays to the official school calendar.

Replacing Christianity with Islam
Reformist Movement Member of Parliament, Francoise Bertieaux, accused the Wallonian Minister of Education of pandering to Muslims at the expense of Christians. The government claims that they want to push religion out of the door, but the new decree actually opens the way for reintroducing religion, in the form of Islam through the window. Under the guise of letting Christian religious traditions go, the government's policy has now made way for new vacation days for the religion of Islam.

War Against Christmas
For the first time, last year, Christmas 2012, Brussels did not have its traditional Christmas tree in the Gothic Central Square. Instead it was replaced with a politically correct structure of abstract art. The Mayor's office, where more than half of the city's eleven councillors are either Muslim or socialist, or both, vetoed the €5,000 project of placing a 20-metre fir tree from the forests of the Ardennes with a 25-metre New Age structure of lighted boxes. The avant-garde abstract art structure that replaced the traditional Christmas tree, cost €44,000! The traditional Christmas Market in downtown Brussels was renamed Winter Pleasures. Residents of Brussels were outraged and asked: "What will be next? Will all Easter eggs also be banned in Brussels?" 

The Failure of Multiculturalism
Even the Flemish Minister for Integration, Geert Bourgeois, admitted that years of expensive government efforts to make Belgium more multicultural have failed. He commented that "perhaps the Muslim youth do not belong because they do not want to belong."

Shari'a Law in Belgium
Two Muslim politicians who won municipal elections in Belgium's capital, Brussels, on 14 October 2012, vowed to implement Islamic Shari'a law in Belgium. Redouane Ahrouch declared: "We are elected Islamicists, but above all we are Muslims… we embrace the Quran and the traditions of the prophet Muhammad. We believe Islam is a universal religion." He said that he will strive to make sure that the town councils' motions and solutions all emanate from Islam. He said that his ultimate goal was creating an Islamic state in Belgium based on Islamic Shari'a law.

Islamic Belgium
When a reporter from the State television, (RTBF) interjected: "An Islamic state in Belgium?" Ahrouch responded: "In Belgium, of course! I am for the Shari'a. Islamic law, I am for it. It is a life-long struggle that will take decades, or a century, but the movement has been launched!"

Inconsistency and Hypocrisy
Ahrouch who was sentenced to six months in prison, in 2003, for assaulting and beating his disabled wife, talks much in public about ethics and respect for others. He refuses to shake hands, or make eye contact, with women in public.

The Islamisation of Belgium
The Islam Party, which he represents, has campaigned on three core issues: Halaal meals in public school cafeterias, securing the official recognition of Muslim religious holidays, and legalising the wearing of Islamic headscarves in public places. The political movement NOOR: "Le Parti Islamique" which he launched in 1999, has a 40 point programme which includes: 7) Abolishing interest payments, 10) Redesigning the Belgium judiciary to comply with Islamic law, 11) Restoring capital punishment, 15) Promoting teenage marriage, 16) Segregating males and females in public, 39) Creating an official Islamic alms (zakat) fund.

The Most Dangerous City in Europe
The growth of the Muslim population in Belgium has been accompanied by a sharp increase in violent crime, which according to ZDF TV, has made Brussels the most dangerous city in Europe. Much of this crime is attributed to the Muslim youth. Muslim dominated areas such as Anderlecht and Molenbeek districts, have become "no go" areas where the police "have lost control." 

Chasing Out Employers and Investors
Growing insecurity in Molenbeek, where 25% of the population is Muslim, has led multinational companies to leave the area. In an open letter to the then mayor, Philippe Moureaux, the American advertising agency BBDO reported that each of its employees had been a victim of violent crime. BBDO listed smashing of car windows, bag snatching and assaults, (over 150 assaults on its staff by local youth.)

Socialist Multicultural Political Correctness Leads to Inaction
BBDO criticised the mayor of inaction due to his socialist multicultural notions of political correctness.

Anti-Semitic Muslim Youth
A 426-page study, Jong in Brussels (Young in Brussels) produced by the Youth Research Platform, documented that more than half of Muslim students in Brussels openly expressed strong anti-Semitic sentiments. The conclusion of the study was that the anti-Semitism of Muslim youth is theologically inspired, by the Quran.

Criminalising Dissent
However, if multiculturalists in Belgium have their way, asking Muslims to integrate into Belgian society, or expressing views such as that which the BBDO executive wrote to the mayor, would become a criminal offence. 6 Belgian senators have introduced a draft resolution in the Belgian parliament that would make Islamophobia a crime punishable by fines and imprisonment. If passed into law, the audacious draft legislation would deal a devastating blow to the exercise of free speech.

Defining Islamophobia
According to the drafters of this resolution, three of whom are Muslim, a person would be guilty of "Islamophobia", if he, or she:

• Considers Islam to be a monolithic group, incapable of adapting to new situations.
• Considers Islam to be separate and different from other cultures.
• Considers Islam to be inferior to the West, to be barbaric, irrational, primitive, or sexist.
• Considers Islam to be violent, threatening, or supportive of terrorism, or actively engaged in a clash of civilisations.
• Considers Islam to be a political ideology.
• Rejects criticisms made by Islam of the West.

Outlawing Free Speech
Such a broad and outrageous definition of Islamophobia would effectively outlaw any critical discussion of Islam in Belgium. It would deal a deathblow to free speech and freedom of conscience, freedom of the press, freedom of association and freedom of religion.

THE RESULT OF PERMISSIVENESS IN THE NETHERLANDS
Already in December 2004, the Dutch Ministry of the Interior published a 60-page report entitled: From Darwa to Jihad. Prepared by AIVD, the Dutch Intelligence Agency, the report claimed that over 50,000 radical Muslims were based in the Netherlands. Their key ideological aim was to target the Western way of life and to confront Western political, economic and cultural domination. The report From Darwa to Jihad concludes that Dutch society was poorly equipped to resist the threat of radical Islam because of its culture of permissiveness.

Assassinations Lead to Resistance
The high profile assassinations of Dutch politician, Pin Fortuyn in 2002, and of Dutch filmmaker, Theo van Gogh, stabbed to death in 2004, for producing a documentary film critical of Islam, along with Islamic death threats against Geert Wilders of the Freedom Party, (PVV) along with escalating violent crime, led many Dutch voters to oppose the government's multicultural policies.

An Open Door to Islam
When Minister of the Interior, Piet Hein Donner, was Minister of Justice, he provoked a nationwide outcry when he stated, in September 2006, that he welcomed the introduction of Shari'a law in the Netherlands, if the majority wanted it.

Abandoning Multiculturalism
Now Minister of the Interior, Piet Hein Donner, has announced that the Dutch government will abandon its longstanding model of multiculturalism which has encouraged Muslim immigrants to create a parallel society within the Netherlands.

Attempts to Stem the Tide
The new Integration Bill will place more demands on immigrants to learn the Dutch language and to obey Dutch law. The new legislation aims to outlaw forced marriages and will impose tougher measures against Muslim immigrants who lower their chances of employment by the way they dress. The government has also announced its intention to impose a ban on face covering Islamic burkas.

Popular Opposition to Islamisation
According to a Maurice de Hond poll, in 2011, 74% of Dutch voters say immigrants should conform to Dutch values and 83% wanted a ban on burkas on public.

Importing Muslim Guest Workers
Muslim immigration to the Netherlands began in the 1960s when a labour shortage prompted the Dutch government to conclude recruiting agreements with Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey.

Welcoming Refugees
In the 1980s and 1990s, Muslims also arrived as asylum seekers and refugees from Afghanistan, Bosnia, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan and Somalia.

Islamic Invasion
There are now at least 1.2 million Muslims in the Netherlands, about 6% of the country's overall population. Most of these come from Morocco and Turkey. Most Muslims live in the four major cities of the country: Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, and Utrecht. As their numbers grew, the Muslim immigrants became increasingly more assertive and aggressive, systematically undermining Dutch law and introducing Shari'a.

Arrogant and Aggressive
The high profile assassinations of Dutch public figures who have spoken out against radical Islam, and the snubbing of Queen Beatrix during her visit to the Mubarak mosque, where the Muslim leader refused to shake hands with her, has led many previously easy going Dutch citizens to recognise that the multiculturalism proposed by their government is unworkable. Now they are insisting that immigrants must be made to conform to Dutch values and obey Dutch law.

THE ISLAMISATION OF FRANCE
When most people think of the French city of Marseille, they will probably think of the national anthem of France. Unfortunately the old port city is now being overshadowed by a grand mosque heralding a new revolution. Since 1989, Saudi Arabia has been pouring money into this project to build a super-mosque in a city which already has 60 mosques.

Laying Claim to France
Muslim invaders had taken the city in the 9th century and enslaved its inhabitants. However, although they were soon ousted, Muslim theologians insist that whatever Muslim's once took, belongs to them in perpetuity. Many Muslims are speaking of this new mega mosque as a way of making it clear to all the infidels that the religion of Islam owns Marseille and by extension, all of France.

Terror in Marseille
In 1994, Marseille was where the Christmas hijacking of Air France flight 8969 came to a bloody end. The Armed Islamic Group terrorists had hijacked the plane on Christmas Eve shouting "Allah Akbar" and announcing to their victims that Allah had chosen them to wage war in his name. They forced the stewardesses to veil themselves with cabin blankets and they recited verses from the Qur'an, while they murdered a number of passengers. The AIG made it clear that their goal was to fly Air France 8969 directly into the Eiffel Tower.

Decisive Action
Marseille was only meant to be a refuelling stop before their final fatal flight to Paris. However, French Special Forces stormed the plane and prevented the planned massacre of the passengers and destruction of the Eiffel Tower. Recently French security broke up another Islamic terrorist ring, which were targeting the Eiffel Tower and the Notre Dame Cathedral. 

Architectural Aggression
Many are seeing the grand mosque of Marseille as an indirect form of architectural aggression. If they cannot blow up Marseilles Notre Dame de la Garde church, the guardian and protectoress of the city, they will overshadow it instead. The mega mosque in Marseille is reported to be a €22 million project, with a minaret 82 feet high and room for over 7,000 worshipers in a vast prayer hall. The first cornerstone of the 8,300m² (90,000ft²) project was laid in May 2010 at an elaborate stone laying ceremony attended by diplomats from a dozen Muslim countries. The grand mosque will also include a Quranic school, library and restaurant.

Opposition
It has faced stiff opposition from local businesses and residents who have taken the matter to court. The French Appeals Court finally granted permission for the construction of the mega mosque in June 2012.

Changing the Skyline
In Northern Paris a 2,000m² (21,500ft²) three storey mega mosque has altered the skyline of the Paris suburb, projecting: "A new symbol of Islam in France." ​

​Against the Cross
As approximately one third of Marseilles residents are Muslim that city may be on its way to becoming the first Muslim majority city in the European Union. At the moment, Marseilles' coat of arms still bears the cross, but Muslims in Marseille have made it clear that once they have control of the municipality, the cross will go.

Lawlessness
Police have reported numerous Muslims who refuse to respond to their request for identification by declaring: "I don’t obey the laws of the French Republic." Muslims in Marseille who attacked police near the mosque were released by the prosecutor as "a gesture of appeasement during Ramadan." However, the police who defended themselves are now facing an administrative enquiry for doing so!

Provocation of Arrogance
The previous president of France, Nicolas Sarkozy, in an election speech in Marseille, warned: "These foreigners who arrive each year to impose their way of life… on the French… is a form of provocation, and arrogance." With over 6.5 million Muslims, France has the largest Muslim population in the European Union. Muslims make up the majority of the 100,000 people naturalised as French citizens each year.

Muslims Determined the Presidential Elections
The last French presidential elections in May 2012, was decided by the Muslim voters. Le Figaro published the results of the polling firm Opinion Way that 93% of Muslims in France voted for the socialist Francois Hollande. As an estimated 2 million Muslims participated in the 2012 presidential elections, and as Hollande won by only 1.1 million votes, this indicated that Muslims cast the deciding votes which thrust Hollande into the Elysee palace.

Amnesty for Illegals
During his campaign, the socialist Hollande offered an amnesty to all the illegal Muslim immigrants in France. He also pledged to change French electoral laws so that Muslim residents without French citizenship would be allowed to vote in municipal elections, as of 2014.

Changing the Balance of Power
Such measures, if implemented, would enable the socialist party to tighten its grip on political power. As the Muslim population is highly politically active, and as the native French population generally avoids voting, moderate and conservative parties will find it increasingly difficult to win future presidential elections in France.

An Islamic Revolution
La Marseillaise, the national anthem of France, got its name from the revolutionaries in Marseilles who sang this song. Today Marseille seems to be at the centre of a new revolution, an Islamic revolution, that aims to Islamise France and Europe.

The Crime Connection
Opponents of the construction of these mosques complain that the architecture is out of harmony with the neighbourhood's economic and social fabric and that areas dominated by Muslims frequently become crime infested districts and even "no go" areas where police fear to enter. The most crime-infested areas of France are in areas where Muslims form a heavy percentage of the population. 700 Muslim neighbours in France are described as "violent", 400 as "very violent."

Foreign Interference
The Persian Gulf Emirate of Qatar has announced plans to invest €50 million into the French suburbs to build mosques and madrassas. Qatar's leader, Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani has vowed to spare no effort to spread the fundamentalist teaching of Wahhabi Islam across the whole world. These investments in the blighted French suburban slums known as Banlieuesare being seen as to stir up and indoctrinate the mostly unemployed and marginalised Muslim youth in France.

SHARI'A IN SCANDINAVIA
Muslim immigrants in a town near Copenhagen forced the cancellation of traditional Christmas displays even while voting public money to lavishly celebrate the Islamic Eid at the end of Ramadan. Kokkedal is 30 km north of Copenhagen. Turkish and Arab immigrants now comprise more than half of the population in Koddedal. The Muslim majority on the Board of Directors of a Tenants Association refused to spend 7,000 Danish kroner for the annual community Christmas event, but at the same time voted 60,000 kroner on a large communal celebration of the Muslim Eid festival. 5 of the 9 board members are Muslims.

Eradicating Christian Culture
Tom Behnke of the Danish Conservative Party, pointed out: "We have to remember that in the past, the Eid festival was the Muslim victory celebration after they had slaughtered Christians. So I do not know how much there is to celebrate in Denmark! Still people should be allowed to celebrate whatever festivals they want to, but they also must respect the festivals in the country they have come to." Behnke said that: "It is deeply alarming that our integration efforts are so ineffective, that the moment there is a Muslim majority they do away with good old Danish traditions and introduce Muslim traditions instead. We are living in Denmark… Yet there is a lack of respect for Danish traditions and culture." 

Violence Against the Media
The Christmas tree controversy turned violent when a van from TV2 News was attacked by 25 masked hoodlums in the Egedalsvaenget housing complex. For attempting to report on the story, the journalists and their van were bombarded with bricks and cobblestones. The van was destroyed and the journalists fled the area. TV2 reported that the attackers were Muslim youth seeking to silence media coverage of the Christmas tree controversy.

Blaming the Victims
Incredibly the local police blamed the journalists for going into what they should have realised was a "no go area!" Danish TV2 reports that there are a growing number of "no go" zones in suburbs in Copenhagen and other areas that have Muslim majorities. These are areas where Danish police are excluded.

Muslim Mob Invades Court
In March 2012, more than 140 gang members raided a Court House where two fellow Muslims were being tried for attempted murder. The mob, wearing masks and throwing rocks and bottles, attempted to force their way into the district Court House in Glostrup, a heavily Islamised suburb of Copenhagen, 6 March. The police used batons and pepper spray to fend off the gang members who were armed with 20 different types of weapons, including crowbars, darts, hammers, knives, screwdrivers and clubs. The trial in Glostrup involved two Pakistani immigrants who had shot and attempted to murder two fellow Muslims who belonged to a rival gang.

Crime Wave
Immigrant Muslim gangs in Europe are involved in countless criminal activities, including automobile theft, drug trafficking, illegal weapon smuggling, extortion, robbery, prostitution, racketeering, human trafficking and murder. Many of the gang members are Arabs, Bosnians, Turks and Somalians. They also include Moroccans, Palestinians, Pakistanis and Iraqis. Danish authorities estimate that every year more than 700 immigrants between the ages of 18 and 25 are choosing crime as their permanent career by joining gangs such as Black Scorpions, Black Cobra, the Bloodz, the Bandidos, and the International Club. There are more than 100 identified gangs operating in Denmark.

Hospital Invaded
In August 2012, more than 80 Muslim gang members raided a hospital in Odense, the third largest city in Denmark, in a failed attempt to kidnap a 26-year old rival gang member who had been shot and stabbed in a shopping centre in Vollsmose district. An ambulance and four police cars were destroyed in the hospital raid and police had to use force to prevent the angry mob from getting their hands on the shooting victim.

Protection Racket Extortion
Numerous districts where there are large numbers of Muslims have reported gangs extorting shops and bars threatening local business owners with violence if they refuse to pay them protection money for operating in what they term, "Muslim territory!" 67-Year old Jane Pedersen, the owner of Café Viking, has endured repeated attacks by Muslim gangs because of her refusal to pay their so-called protection money. Pedersen has set up a Facebook page called: "No to Bullies!" Pedersen declared: "I refused. I could be their grandmother, and it simply cannot be justified!" 

Media Censorship
The politically correct BBC managed to report on Pedersen and Copenhagen's gang problem without once using the word Muslim.

Scandalous Statistics
Muslim immigrants and the violence they have brought has changed the landscape of the once peaceful and law-abiding Denmark into a national scandal. Although Muslims make up only 5% in the population, they consume over 40% of the social welfare spending and make up more than 75% of the country's convicted rapists.

Creating a Vacuum for Islam to Fill
A commentator in Sweden observes a reoccurring cycle throughout Europe: "The indigenous population are too busy working, contributing to the welfare state and life-styling to have kids or apply any degree of critical thinking to the government's short-sighted policies. This creates an economic vacuum which is filled by immigrants from the Middle East. They enter the country and are not so bothered abut contributing to the welfare state as they are benefiting from it. The government allows them to work less than the indigenous population while they reproduce at a staggeringly higher rate. Their numbers are fuelled by the welfare state whose generosity and tolerance knows no bounds. This obliges the indigenous population to work even harder and pay even more taxes to support the growing number of immigrants." 

Hijacking Sweden
CBN News recently reported about Sweden's third largest city, Malmö, which has been so accommodating towards immigrant Muslims that a local Muslim politician declared: "The best Islamic state is Sweden!" 

National Suicide
"The irony borders on the absurd. Anyone in Sweden who endorses traditional Christian values and the preservation of Swedish culture are stigmatised by the media as fascist and bigoted. Basically they are side lined to allow an influx of people endorsing traditional Muslim values and the promotion of Arabic culture. A culture, incidentally, which is pretty much at odds with most of the core values that Swedes claim sets them apart from any nation on earth." 

Multi-Cultural Madness
For many Muslim immigrants, Sweden offers a better life for them and their children - with no strings attached. Swedes have naively created a huge social vacuum and the Muslims are filling it. Kent Ekeroth, the international secretary for the Sweden Democrats (SD), has spoken of the destruction being wrecked throughout Sweden by "political correctness and multiculturalism." 

Censoring Reality
He describes Sweden as a "politically correct dictatorship. The Swedish media is censoring the fact that the perpetrators of violent crimes are foreigners." Swedish newspapers even go to the extent of pixilating out the face of criminals to avoid identification of the race of the perpetrator.

Double Standards
Courts have even started to take into account the culture of the person being prosecuted for domestic violence and abuse, stating that in their home country, this kind of behaviour is more acceptable!

Violent Intimidation
Swedes who have started to express concern about the Islamisation of their country have been attacked with teargas, baseball bats, knives and stones. Homes of representatives of political parties concerned about the situation have been attacked. This has included: axes on doors, smashed windows, threats painted on doors, cars burned, bullying in the streets, attacks by gangs, glass bottles thrown… Yet, when a political party was attacked by a gang of extremists, the police commanding officer said that he could not investigate "due to political pressure!" 

Cowardice and Compromise
Ekeroth explained: "Crime rates have sky rocketed, especially violent crimes, but in addition, Swedish society has adapted to Muslims demands. Pork meat has been withdrawn from some schools in Sweden. The Muslim holiday, Ramadan, has been introduced in some schools. Separate swimming times for men and women have been effected in Malmö." The leader of the largest Muslim organisation in Sweden has called for the introduction of Shari'a law.

Appeasement
Anti-Semitism has risen to such an extent that the Social Democrat Mayor of Malmö issued a boycott against a tennis game between Sweden and Israel to cater to his Muslim constituency.

Aggression
When riots erupted in and around Stockholm and Malmö, police were attacked with stones. Fire fighters were prevented from putting out the blazes caused by arsonists, as Muslim gangs pelted them with rocks. Reportedly Muslim immigrants are 500% more likely to be involved in violent assault, or rape, than the rest of the population (Front Page Magazine).

THE BATTLE FOR THE SOUL OF GERMANY
Despite being devastated by the saturation bombings of WWII, which killed 2 million civilians and destroyed 63 cities, and the 45-year partition of East and West Germany by the Iron Curtain during the Cold War, Germany remains Europe's strongest economy. Even after the ruinously expensive reincorporation of crippled East Germany, with the extremely high social security costs of rebuilding the entire infrastructure of the East, Germany is still one of the world's largest industrial producers, with a massive trade surplus, built on a solid export base.

Economic Powerhouse
The Protestant work ethic has made this land of the Reformation phenomenally productive, innovative and resilient. Despite the tumultuous events of WWII and the traumatic occupation of East Germany by the Soviets during the Cold War, Germany is one of the strongest and most stable democracies and economies in Europe.

Spiritual Crisis
However, the nation’s spiritual health is failing. Secular humanism and the marginalisation of Christianity in the public sphere have led to a drastic decline in church attendance. In 1960, 97% of West Germany would have described themselves as Christian. Today, only 63% would identify themselves as Christians. Church attendance is something around 6% nation wide. The state funded Catholic and Lutheran churches are steadily losing members and closing churches.

Spiritual Renewal
Before the First World War, Germany was the second largest Protestant nation in the world, the third largest Evangelical nation on earth and the third largest Missionary sending country on earth. However, the decline of Christianity in Germany has drawn Evangelicals together. Many dynamic prayer movements are forming and multiplying. City and region wide prayer initiatives are revitalising Evangelism in Germany.

Church Growth
Over a thousand Evangelical churches have been planted in the last 15 years.

Missionary Vision
Germany still has over 3,000 missionaries from over 165 Mission agencies serving worldwide. Many German missionaries are in Brazil, Kenya, Russia and Tanzania. Over the last 30 years there has been a steady growth in Protestant Missionaries being sent out from Germany (Operation World).

Youth Ministry
There is an urgent need for more focused ministry to the youth. A large majority of church attenders are over the age of 50. Most of the youth are secular. There are also over 250,000 international students in Germany, a tremendous and strategic Mission field.

Secularisation
Many of the cities of Germany have become extremely secular, particularly Berlin where 65% of the inhabitants have no link to a church and only 3% regularly attend services.

Islamisation in Germany
Due to massive immigration, only 88% of the population of Germany are ethnically German. Muslim Turks make up 3% of the population. There are officially 3.6 million Muslims from over 40 nations residing in Germany at this time. There are one million Muslim Kurds, 300,000 Bosnian Muslims, 100,000 Iranians, and 3,000 Arabs living in Germany, many of them on social welfare. Muslims in Duisburg, one of the most Islamised cities in Germany, are clamouring for the right to occupy empty churches and turn them into mosques! Germany is now home to more than 200 mosques (including more than 40 mega mosques), and 2,600 prayer halls and madrassas. According to Zentral Institut Islam - Archiv, another 128 mosques are under construction.

Winning Muslims to Christ
Through dynamic Evangelistic efforts, an estimated 4,000 to 5,000 Muslims come to faith in Christ each year, in Germany. However, almost a thousand ethnic Germans officially convert to Islam each year.

Migrating Mission Fields
While some of the foreigners migrating to Germany have a vibrant Christian faith, most have never even heard the Gospel. Since the year 2000, over 700 Roman Catholic churches and more than 100 Protestant churches have been closed in Germany.

Islamisation of Academic Institutions
In January 2012, one of the oldest universities in Germany, Tübingen, opened a taxpayer-funded Department for Islamic Theology. Although the government claimed that this will be an antidote to the hate preachers in the mosques (most of the Imams in Germany are from Turkey), many academics are concerned that the Islamic department in Tübingen will only become a gateway for radical Islamicists who will introduce their hard line Islam into the main stream of the German university system.

Pacifying
The Interior Minister of Rhineland - Palatinate, Jochen Hartloff, said that he favoured the introduction of Islamic Shari'a law in Germany, claiming that it "could have a pacifying effect!"

When Self Defence is an Offense
When a young German defended himself against a mob of 20 knife-wielding Muslims in the Islamised neighbourhood of Neukölln, of Berlin, one of the attackers, an 18-year-old Muslim, died in the struggle. More than 300,000 Muslims attended Yusuf Al-Abed's funeral. Although the police determined that the German citizen, Sven, had acted in self-defence, Muslim mobs have threatened to burn the neighbourhood down.

Saturation Bombing of Qurans
Islamic Salafist radicals have launched an unprecedented campaign to distribute 25 million copies of the Qur'an, translated into the German language, free of charge, into every household in Germany. This they have called: Project Read! The Salafists claim that their goal is the establishment of a Sunni Islamic Caliphate (dictatorship) across the Middle East, North Africa and Europe, eventually the entire world - governed exclusively by Shari'a law.

Violence Against Police
In May, more than 500 Salafists used bottles, clubs, rocks and other weapons to attack German police in Bonn. 29 Police officers were injured, two with serious stab wounds. Although more than 100 Salafists were arrested, most were later released.

Contempt for the Law
One of the attackers, Murat K, a 26-year-old Turk, admitted that he had attacked and wounded two police officers with a knife, but he showed no remorse and said that he had been morally obligated to follow Islamic Shari'a law, because the authorities had allowed the publication of cartoons that were offensive. Murat responded to his verdict, of being sentenced to 6 years in prison, by declaring that the German courts were illegitimate. "I do not accept this court as legitimate. I will answer only to Allah."

Islamic Terrorism in Germany
On 10 December 2012, German authorities reported on an attempted bombing of the main train station in Bonn. A man with links to Al Quieda had activated the detonator of a bomb on a platform in the main train station, but it had failed to explode. In August 2012, the German intelligence chief of the BND, Gerard Schindler, reported, that they were particularly concerned about the threat posed by home-grown terrorists who had travelled through to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia or Yemen, to obtain terrorist training. At a high security trial, four Muslim terrorists in Düsseldorf, were charged with planning a sensational terrorist attack in Germany. This included plotting to assassinate the former Commander of German Special Forces and to attack the US Army base in the Bavarian town of Grafenwöhr.

Radicalised Youth
The 103-page study German - Turkish Life and Values, has found that each generation of Turks living in Germany hold progressively more radical views than their elders.

Islamic Extremism
The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung on 21 November 2012, published a 28-page study: Fear of the East in the West, which showed that 64% of the German population believes that Islam is prone to violence, 60% that they have a tendency towards revenge, and 80% believe that Islam deprives women of their rights. 70% said that Islam is associated with religious fanaticism and radicalism. The study concluded that despite decades of multiculturalism, toleration, integration and generous welfare subsidies, the image of Islam is "devastating".

Counter Productive
Turkish Imams are preaching hatred against the West in mosques throughout Germany. Yet the Domestic Intelligence Agency (BfV) have reported that they are monitoring German language Internet sites and social media, to see whether German citizens who criticise Islam on the Internet are fermenting hate and are thus guilty of a crime!

Criminalising Criticism
The implication for freedom of speech and freedom of thought are serious as the authorities have confirmed that they are monitoring Internet sites that are critical of Muslim immigration and the Islamisation of Europe. Instead of dealing with the problem they seem to prefer to blame and criminalise the messengers who draw attention to the problem.

Dynamic Evangelistic Initiatives
Evangelicals in Germany are making use of a wide variety of mediums to Evangelise the nation. There are more than 150 Evangelical Magazines. ERF, the German partners of Trans World Radio, is making a tremendous impact with broadcasts in 20 languages in Germany. Bibel TV and ERF are broadcasting 24 hours a day. Internet Evangelism is growing. There are 70 Campus Ministries and 800 Christian Fellowships in secondary schools. There are 200 Good News Clubs ministering to children and a growing number of Christians are calling for a return to another Reformation, to go back to the Bible, as Dr. Martin Luther did nearly 500 years ago.

Practical Steps to Stop the Islamisation of Europe
SION (Stop Islamisation of Nations) has called for:

• Immediate halt of immigration by Muslims into nations that do not have a Muslim majority population.
• Surveillance of mosques and regular inspection of mosques to look for pro-violence materials.
• Any mosque advocating Jihad should be closed.
• Deportation hearings against all non-citizens who promote Jihad.
• Immediate investigation into foreign mosque funding in non-Muslim nations.
• A halt to foreign aid to Islamic nations with Shari'a-based constitutions and/or governments.
• For Jihad to be recognised as a crime against humanity.
• 
  

WHAT CAN BE DONE TO STOP AND REVERSE THE ISLAMISATION OF EUROPE
In the Book of Nehemiah we read of the successful strategy that rebuilt the walls and the gates of Jerusalem.

INFORMATION
Nehemiah gathered his information from eyewitnesses. He investigated the situation personally, confirmed the facts, separated truth from rumour and then presented the facts to the people and the authorities. We, too, need to gather and distribute information. We must be informed. "My people perish for lack of knowledge." Hosea 4:6

A Battle for the Mind
This is first and foremost a battle for the mind. Obtain Slavery, Terrorism and Islam – the Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat (290 pages, 200 pictures), the Muslim Evangelism Workshop audio MP3 (20 lectures), and the Islam Rising DVD. These are the absolute basic minimum introduction to the threat confronting us. There are many other books, DVDs and audio MP3s that we can recommend once you have gone through these. We need to distribute and make better know these publications, audio-visual resources, use social media and spread the word.

INTERCESSION
Prayer was an integral and essential foundation of Nehemiah's strategy. We need to establish prayer groups, prayer chains and prayer networks to seek God for spiritual Revival, Biblical Reformation and the restoration of spiritual life and Scriptural principles in all areas of our society (2 Chronicles 7:14). "Then Jesus told His disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up." Luke 18:1. We are either praying, or we have given up. If we have given up, it is probably because we neglected to pray. We need to be informed, and we need to be interceding. Prayer is our foundation for action.

INVOLVEMENT
Nehemiah researched amongst the rubble and developed a plan to motivate and mobilise the community to rebuild their portion of the wall. Nehemiah enlisted qualified help, encouraged his workers, motivated them and organised them in delegated tasks. We need to be involved in Christian Action groups and Reformation Societies to restore Biblical values in our homes, congregations, businesses, schools, media, community organisations and government. "Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called repairer of broken walls, restorer of streets with dwellings." Isaiah 58:12

While each group of families had their own part of the wall to work on, they were united in the common defence. They "worked with all their hearts" together, to achieve the main goal, to rebuild their walls. When Nehemiah sounded the trumpet, all rallied to that part of the wall that was under attack for the common defence. "The work is extensive and spread out, and we are widely separated from each other along the wall. Whenever you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fight for us!"Nehemiah 4:19

Understanding the Times
We need to recognise God's enemies:
Secular humanism is rotting our countries and our churches from within and radical Islam is threatening it from without.

God's weapons: Bible teaching, Evangelism and prayer - including the Imprecatory Psalms.
God's battle plan: The Cultural Mandate and the Great Commission. God-fearing families are the basic building block of society. We need to Reform our families and institute a thorough discipleship plan for our churches as we mobilise to fulfil the Great Commission.

Two Extremes
There are two extremes we need to guard against:
There are those who refuse to see the crisis.
They say that there is no problem! Then there are those who panic and say that there is no hope!

The Problem
We must recognise the problems - honestly and soberly. Man is depraved and in rebellion to God and His Word. Sin inevitably reaps tremendous trouble.

The Hope
However, we must also recognise that God is sovereign and almighty. There is power in prayer. The Gospel is the power of God unto Salvation for all who believe. How can any Christian say that there is no hope?
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

Wake Up!
1.  We must wake up to the urgent and serious crisis. Most churches are asleep, or in apostasy. The world is rushing by on its way to hell. Yet our prayer meetings are sparsely attended and lacking in fire and fervour. Most Evangelical churches engage in little, or no, Evangelism. Missionary vision is generally weak and much that is done in the name of Missions has little to do with the Great Commission, "making disciples …teaching obedience…" We need to learn from The Greatest Century of Missions.
By abandoning its Christian heritage, aborting its babies, embracing heathenism and perversion, demanding unlimited personal freedoms, Europe is heading towards the repression of Islamic Shari'a law. By rejecting Christianity, Europe is in danger of falling under Islamic totalitarianism.
The combined effects of affluence and a rapidly falling birth rate, have made Western Europe a magnet for millions of impoverished Muslims from North Africa and the Middle East. With most Europeans embracing a practical atheism, or a fuzzy New Age spirituality, they are incapable of comprehending, let alone effectively dealing with, radical Islam. We therefore need a comprehensive response to the threat confronting us. We need to start by reviving our own personal prayer lives. Work through The Power of Prayer Handbook. Pray the Psalms.

Make Disciples
2.   We need to get serious about discipleship. Work through the Discipleship Training Manual and Practical Discipleship. Take the members of your prayer fellowship, mid-week Bible study, or congregation, through the principles of discipleship.

The Battle for the Family
3.   The family is the basic building block of society. Work through Reforming Our Families and ensure that your family is thoroughly grounded in the Word of God. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

Mobilise to Evangelise
4.   We need to mobilise to Evangelise. We need personal training in effective Evangelism. Living Waters Africa provides Way of the Master, Ten Commandments based Evangelism. The Law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul. The Law of the Lord is the schoolmaster that leads us to Christ, that we can be justified by Faith. Go through the Way of the Master training series by DVD and Evangelism Explosion Manual. We have also designed a comprehensive Great Commission Course. The Great Commission Course 2013 4 disc MP3 boxset has 73 audio lectures on three MP3s, and a data DVD with over 80 PowerPoint presentations, the whole Great Commission Manual, supplementary lecture notes and much more. Examples of Excellence
5.    We need to rediscover our history and know how to counter the disinformation of the guilt manipulators who seek to steal our heritage. Victorious Christians - Who Changed the World (380 pages, 250 pictures) and the supplementary Heroes of the Faith audio MP3 with 37 lectures presents 32 biographies of examples of excellence who will inspire and encourage you.

Additional Practical Steps That Can Be Taken to Stop and Reverse Islamisation:

• Learn more about Islam, so that you can effectively Evangelise Muslims.
• Obtain the Muslim Evangelism Workshop audio MP3 and Manual.
• Distribute Gospel booklets, the Jesus film and More Than Dreams DVDs to Muslims in your area.
• Organise a Muslim Evangelism Workshop in your church, or college, to encourage, educate and enlist more dedicated Christians determined to win Muslims to Christ.

• Do not support Halaal products (which subsidise radical Islamic causes).
• Choose to support Christian businesses rather than Muslim ones.
• Use your social media to educate and motivate friends and family for Reformation and against Islamisation.
• Do everything you can to support alternatives to petrol. One out of three barrels of oil from the Middle East goes to buy weapons. Biofuel and alternative energy sources must be explored and developed to move Europe off from dependence on Mid-East oil. Every time we buy petrol, we are actually subsidising Jihad against ourselves.

INVESTMENT
Nehemiah invested his time, money, resources and his very life in rebuilding Jerusalem. In the same way, we need to sacrifice and work for the necessary resources to support those people, publications and projects that will seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.

IMPLEMENTATION
Nehemiah did not allow any obstacle to prevent him from completing his task. Although he had limited resources, little experience, and minimal security, he did not hesitate. Despite criticism, slander, discouragement and opposition, in less than two months, Nehemiah had transformed a pile of rubble into a secure wall for defending his city. So too, we must stand firm and put our plans for Biblical Reformation into action. Get involved in the Parent-Teacher Association and School Governing Board in your local school, or be involved in a home schooling movement. Write letters to your local newspaper and to members of Parliament. Vote Biblically. Make yourself available to Bible-based groups where you can help in co-operating with others concerned for Reformation.
Let us work together to "Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness."

Know Your Enemy

When I asked him about the problems he encounters in his ministry, he mentioned that their Gospel van has often been stoned by angry Muslim mobs. Recently every window in their vehicle was broken by a Muslim mob offended by the Gospel music played in their mission vehicle. During the recent cartoon riots (ostensivley in protest of the obscure Danish newspaper that published some cartoons on Mohammad) at least 30 churches were destroyed and over 1,000 Christians murdered by rampaging Muslim mobs in Borno State. A bishop was burnt to death in his car, and another pastor was roasted on a stick over a fire.

“But, despite the threats and these troubles, we see God at work,” declared Yakubu. At one town, soldiers and military police surrounded his van and challenged him: “Are you aware that preaching in public is illegal?” Yakubu responded: “Yes, we know that public speaking is not allowed, but our message is one of peace, so we did not think that the ban during this time of rioting applied to us.” Nevertheless, the military police arrested them and threw them into a cell at the barracks. The next day the commandant came to them: “You are lawless. You were preaching in public.”

Yakubu responded: “We must obey God and we must preach the Gospel. This message of God’s peace is what the people need at this time.” They were eventually released, but their Jesus film was confiscated. However, one of the Muslim police officers expressed a personal interest in seeing the Jesus film in Hausa. Yakubu organised a copy of the Jesus video in Hausa for him. The officer later expressed great appreciation for the film.
“Persecution opens doors to ministry,” explains Yakubu. “Because of the opposition, we reach people with the Gospel who we would never otherwise have met.”

Yakubu’s unexpected evangelistic strategies include film evangelism, market preaching, and a T.V ministry that reaches 4 million Hausa viewers for 30 minutes a week. 60% of their viewers are Muslims. He explains: “There are many secret Christians amongst the Muslims. But because of Sharia law and the death sentence for ‘apostasy’, many of these Muslims cannot openly attend Christian churches. This is not only for fear of their own lives, and for that of their family members, but also for fear of bringing reprisals from Muslim militants against any church that would receive them as a Muslim convert (‘apostate’).”

“Sharia law was enforced in Northern Nigeria as a reaction to the rapid conversions to Christ. Sharia is a desperate attempt to stem the tide of people leaving Islam. Our problem is not winning Muslims to Christ, but insufficient resources to sustain enough missionaries and evangelists in Northern Nigeria. If there was freedom of worship in the North, 50% of the Muslims would turn to Christ,” claimed Yakubu.

“There are many Muslim study groups who are using the Quran and the Bible to study who Jesus is. We know Muslims who have found Christ in the Quran. There is a sheik who came to Christ and told us that he had found Jesus from studying what the Quran says about Jesus. We have a name for these people. In Hausa it is: ‘nutane neman gaskiya’ (people searching for truth)”.

“Amongst the Muslim Hausa and Fulani there are many tens of thousands of hidden disciples, secret followers of Christ, who for fear of persecution and out of concern for the safety of their families, and to protect the churches from being burned down by Muslims, continue to go to the mosque and go through the motions of being a Muslim publically. But they are only pretending to be Muslims. They recognise Jesus Christ as the Son of God, who died for their sins, and they are trusting Him alone for Salvation.”

Yakubu says that evangelism amongst Muslims in Northern Nigeria is “risky, but worth the risk.”Yakubu mentioned some of the recent encouraging responses to their Gospel preaching. “We had a Muslim woman visit our office. She has been horribly abused by her Muslim husband and feared what would happen to her and to her children if she came out openly for Christ. She had been watching our T.V. programmes and was convinced that Jesus is God’s way of Salvation. In the light of eternity, she knew what she must do. She gave her life to Christ. And for many months followed Jesus secretly. Now she has let her husband know that she is a Christian and is being beaten. We have to continue to pray for her protection.

“Our biggest problem in Nigeria” explained Yakubu, “is not how to bring Muslims to Christ, but the problem of many churches not having any programme to deal with Muslim converts. In fact, even more serious than that, many churches refuse to accept Muslim converts for fear of violence and having their church disrupted or even burned down by Muslim mobs in retaliation.”

Yakubu explained that: “The slightest provocation results in violence against Christians. There is continual, daily persecution and secret killing of Christians in Northern Nigeria, even by government leaders.” It is widely believed that the governor of Borno State sponsored the cartoon riots in his area. Many rioters reported having been paid to burn churches and destroy the property of Christians. On numerous occasions churches and pastors’ homes have been bulldozed down by state government order.“Persecution is a daily reality in Northern Nigeria.” Thousands of churches have been destroyed in Northern Nigeria in recent years.

Often the Muslims will seek to provoke a crisis in order to mobilise reaction against it. During the recent (Danish) cartoon riots, a student stood up in a high school class and started reading the Quran aloud, disrupting the lesson. Despite numerous attempts by the teacher to persuade the student to sit down and allow the lesson to continue, the Muslim student continued reading the Quran aloud. When the teacher finally took the book out of the student’s hand, the Muslim started shouting“Allah akbar!” Armed mobs with weapons then gathered and began to riot.

In Northern Nigeria it seems to be a regular tactic to burn churches and bulldoze pastors homes in order to impoverish the Christians and intimidate them, preoccupying them with expensive and time consuming concerns for basic survival. In this way the Muslims seek to undermine the evangelism of Christians in the North.

Although the Hausa and Fulani tribes are considered to be totally Muslim, there are tens of thousands who have turned to Christ and who are openly worshipping in Christian churches. Most of these have endured threats and attacks, have been rejected by their families, have lost their homes and are in danger of being murdered.

Although it is generally believed that all Hausas are Muslim, many are in practice pagan. They are called the “Marguzawa” (people who have dodged Islam). These animistic Muslim Hausa are the most responsive to the Gospel. Many thousands have come to Christ recently.

“We chose market days for our preaching and film evangelism crusades in the North,” Yakubu explains that from those outreaches other invitations come to show the film or speak in the neighbouring villages. When they show the Jesus film in Hausa or Fulani it is often the first film that many of these villagers have ever seen. They used to use the 16 mm projector, but now, have moved to video projector with generator. Typically, almost everyone in the village will attend one of these Jesus film showings.“We point out that in the Quran, Surah 19:21, it is said that Jesus is a sign of mercy from Allah, and that we cannot see God without mercy. Therefore, we tell the Muslims that according to their own Quran, they will not be able to see God without Jesus.”

Yakubu also quotes in Surah 3:55 – 56, where the Quran tells us that Allah declared to Jesus that he would cause Him to die and raise Him to himself. That he would greatly exalt those who believe in Him above those who do not believe. And that Allah will cause those who refuse to believe in Jesus to suffer everlasting punishment.”

“We emphasize stories from the Bible that are also in the Quran, such as Noah and the Ark, Abraham, Moses and Jesus,” explains Yakubu. “We also often travel with Fulani converts who can communicate with the people fluently in their own language, and quote verses from the Bible in Arabic. Evangelising Muslims is risky, but it is worth the risk.”

I asked Yakubu: “How do your churches survive?”
“This is the miracle of God,” answered Yakubu. “Often we have thought that we have prayed our last prayer, or that this will be our last outreach. Sometimes while we are preaching mobs will be begin chanting: ‘Allah akbar!’ This is normally the prelude to violence. Recently, one of the converts from Islam was arrested for having hosted a Jesus film showing in his home. Although he was an old man, they locked him up. Sometimes the chief has told us that we are not allowed to preach in the area. But in some other areas where the chief has come to Christ, the whole village has been converted.”

Please pray for Yakubu and for his co-workers. And please pray that our mission will be able to supply them with the Bibles and books and film evangelism equipment necessary for their dynamic evangelism amongst Muslims in Northern Nigeria.
