As we are receiving new resources and shipments, and are about to launch a series of leadership training courses, outreaches and field trips - I thought it wise to update you on developments and request your earnest prayers. Missions at the Mall Firstly, thank you very much for all those who prayed for, or were involved in making possible, the missions at the mall. On South Africa’s National Women’s Day, we were able to set up literature tables and displays in malls around Cape Town and as far afield as KwaZulu Natal and Limpopo Province. Tens of thousands of leaflets and Gospel tracts were printed and three thousand balloons with Scriptures or pro-family messages were produced for the event. Over 60 volunteers took part in the various outreaches and numerous evangelistic discussions ensued. Using Way of the Master evangelistic tracts, we were able to take many shoppers through The Ten Commandments to show them their need for Christ. Thousands of Muslims received Gospel leaflets from our people. Throughout the twelve hours of the outreach, many conversations, discussions, witnessing and counselling opportunities came thick and fast and at the end of the day we had aching legs and swirling heads.
The Apostles Creed – Firm Foundations for your Faith Just in time for our upcoming mission trip we received the first consignments of our new Discipleship booklet: The Apostles Creed – Firm Foundations for your Faith. This compact, pocket sized, 50-page booklet contains a dynamic summary of the foundational teachings of Scripture. The Apostles Creed makes a personal statement of our Biblical convictions to enable us to stand fast in the truth and be more effective in God’s service. This booklet has been designed for Bible study groups, senior home schoolers and evangelists to know what we believe, why we believe it and how to defend it in argument. As we distribute these booklets throughout our contacts in Africa, pray that it will help them be more effective in evangelism and discipleship. As the Lord’s Prayer is the Prayer of prayers and The Ten Commandments is the Law of laws, so the Apostles Creed is the Creed of creeds. We are commanded to “always be ready to give a defence to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you…” 1 Peter 3:15 Please let us know if you can use quantities of these booklets for your ministry. We will be enclosing a complimentary copy of the Apostles Creed booklet with every receipt letter to supporters during the next month. The Ten Commandments – God’s Perfect Law of Liberty Also in time for the next mission trip, we are expecting delivery tomorrow of The Ten Commandments – God’s Perfect Law of Liberty. This 120-page book identifies the contemporary idols for destruction and clearly shows, step by step, how we can seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, applying the Lordship of Jesus Christ to all areas of life. “The Law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.” Psalm 19:7 The great Reformer, Dr. Martin Luther, declared: “The first duty of the Gospel preacher is to declare God’s Law and to show the nature of sin.” It is our prayer that this new book will provide a valuable resource for discipleship and Reformation in Africa. Upcoming Events Please pray for our upcoming leadership training courses. I will be conducting a Biblical Worldview Seminar at the KwaSizabantu Mission, Pellindaba in the Transvaal 28-30 August. This will be followed by the Christians For Truth Conference at KwaSizabantu, KwaZulu/Natal 4-6 September. Then I will be conducting a Biblical Worldview Seminar, entirely translated into Zulu, South of Durban 10-13 September. My son, Calvin, and I will also be conducting a series of other meetings at various schools throughout the country. Contact Frontline Fellowship for books, CDs, DVDs, MP3s, PowerPoints and updates from the field so that you can mobilise your family, school and congregation to pray for the persecuted. Biblical Worldview Summit – Reclaiming the Nations for Christ If you hunger for Reformation and Revival and want to change your world, come to the Biblical Worldview Summit 1-8 January 2010 in Cape Town. Great Commission Course For those who are serious about missions, the next Great Commission Course will be conducted 1-20 January 2010 in Cape Town. This intensive and practical hands-on missions training course involves daily practicals and outreaches. It will be followed up with a series of missionary outreach opportunities across the border. “Finally brethren, pray for us that the Word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, justas it is with you and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith.” 2 Thessalonians 3:1-2 Yours for the fulfillment of the Great Commission Dr. Peter Hammond
